I've heard when some players held out that they can be more susceptible to soft tissue injuries like hammies but have no idea how true it is. I'm sure it comes down to their conditioning and couldn't have more faith in anyone's conditioning than Bosa. We are OVERDUE for an extraordinarily healthy season, hopefully this is it!

Yes, hope so.

How long does it take to hand the man a blank check?

That's the issue it's not blank. Could be a number of issues. Aren't signing bonuses taxed at a higher rate? I know my work bonus is taxed at a higher rate than my reg salary. Imagine getting millions in up front bonus to save cap. He could be choking in taxes. But really it could be a number of not related to the yearly salary holding things up.

I think they are trying to fit Aiyuk and Bosa into next year's cap.

I think regardless, you have to make Bosa, the highest paid D player. You can't fail to meet that threshold, cuz BA, or anyone else.
They have to make his contract fit in the cap. It is probably the bonus and guaranteed money holding it up. If the Niners can make it come out around his current cap hit 17ml that could leave them enough to sign others. The problem would be it would be back loaded. The last 2 yrs would be a Big hit to the team 35-38ml. But who knows what the cap would be by then. I guess they could just redo the contract in 3 yrs. Anyway I hope it's sooner rather than later. Go 9ers

I think they can do it. I defer to AB81, but with the extra 10 million cap space they have now, they can roll over this year (if they don't touch it by signing a free agent before the deadline), and fit Bosa's guaranteed money with the expanded cap numbers for next year. In addition, if they can successfully front-load Bosa's contract like they always do with their core players, they should be able to fit Aiyuk in there too. They have currently 17+ million in dead money that disappears next year.
Nothing makes me more confident that the deal will get done then John Lynch saying he's confident the deal will get done.
don't really need bosa out there practicing until 1-2 weeks before week 1 tbh
Cohn calling Bosa a know-it-all mercenary who shouldn't be captain. Lol. That didn't take long.
