Yeah we know. And then when he signs his extension to stay here, instead of acknowledging that you were wrong, you'll just complain that it's too much money.

According to over the cap, we have $10m. I can't see how this gets done.

Bosa is already signed for this year.

Yeah, he's holding out for more money....

Probably won't be much more (if any) this year, possibly even less. The extension will go into effect next year.

It'll go down by almost $10M cap wise, he'll likely get somewhere in the range of a $35M signing bonus, he'll get a s**t ton of fully GTD money, probably $90M+.

Also we don't really have $10M, sure we have it top 51 wise, but when you count players 52 & 53, the PS, injured players, that money gets eaten up quickly, even if we did have $10M, you add that to $18M, that's only $28M upfront, he'll get more with an extension, if the bonus is $35M, plus $1.08M base, that's over $36M in year 1 cash wise, $8.08M cap number in year 1.

Frontload that guaranteed money like there's no tomorrow! Gotta fit Aiyuk and Trey in the Cap somehow next year.

Sus?!

FWIW Chris Jones said he will sit out until week 8 if he doesn't get a new deal…so I don't think Bosa is waiting for him.

Signing bonus isn't really front loading - it's paying him a lump sum upfront and then spreading it throughout the life of the contract. So most likely the money he gets in the signing bonus will be allocated to the back half of the contract. I just hope it's like 5-6 years.

our next two years are pretty heavy with contracts so I expect his base will be relatively low this season and next, once the contract is negotiated.

MIddlekauf says Jones contract has no bearing on Bosa's. two different contracts. two different positions.

I agree, some people in here were thinking it did. This is just gonna be a massive contract with not much wiggle room for SF, so I get the patience with all of it.
