Really hope Bosa/his agent aren't insistent on waiting for Jones' contract to get done first…

I don't see the value in giving a DE FQB money.

29 Days....are you kidding me?
PAY THE MAN

It takes two to Tango, as the saying goes. We don't know what's going on. The 49ers may have the largest defensive player contract on the table right now as we speak while Bosa and his camp wait to see what Jones is doing, We don't know and as Lynch said they DO have a good track record which imo earns the benefit of doubt imo.

What about the value of retaining the best D player in the game, and paying the DPOY, top D player dollars?

Eh… $30-$34M a year isn't franchise QB money anymore. Daniel Jones got $40M a year and that's basically the bare minimum at this point. Good franchise QB's get $50M+ now. The only reason Aaron Rodgers makes $37.5M is because of the trade—he actually signed for $50M a year with the Packers last year, and Goff's contract is from 2019. Cousins' one-year $35M extension was signed last year.

Don't think of him as a DE, think of him as a game wrecker.

And now at best "they HAD".
To have the DPOY away from the team the whole offseason is...irritating.
Everyone talking about SB-Windows and we do not get the leagues best defender into camp to maximize this opportunity.
Thats not a good track record any more.

If I may, the signing bonus isn't an issue, the team & player usually agrees to a payment arraignment for the bonus, rookies get this, mainly 1st rd picks, they'll basically backload the deal cap wise, frontload cash wise.

As for cap hits, probably something like this, $8.08M(23), $12M(24), $30M+(25-28)

Thanks for adding more context.

I remember reading a while ago that Mark Davis couldn't sign Mack because he simply didn't have the actual cash flow to pay for his signing bonus? From what I've read that cash has to be paid within the first 12-18 months of signing?

I've heard the same thing, the ownership has to have the cash on hand. I trust AB when he says that there are payment methods for it - can you expand on that, AB? Give an example, please?

I read the big reason the team had to get ownerships approval on Hargrave was because we had to fork $28M jn cash to him for his signing bonus, like NY said, need it on hand.

aye AB, I'm bumping this to try and get you to see it. Can you give NY and i an example of how the bonus payment arrangement would look? An example

Yeah, for payment arraignments, they're usually paid in 4 payments, by the end of the current league year, but for cap purposes it prorates right away.

I know for a fact that rookie picks, 1st rounders, will get paid their signing bonuses in 4 payments, the arraignment is up to the player, team, & agent agreeing on the structure of the arraignment.

I'd have to check, but tweet(X) at @corryjoel(former agent Joel Corry), he is the one that I learned this from from an article of his, I forget which, but he breaks it down all the time on CBSSports.com.

That is not how Super Bowls are won in todays 7on7 NFL.

It's all about the offense.

Sometimes this WZ really cracks me up
I'm waiting for the Webzone to crash to confirm the deal is done.

Everyone was clamoring for Bosa to win defensive mvp

now we are sad he didn't sign yet

well….

I hope ..At least .. he will get some of those blatant holds on him get called a bit more . This is the only positive I see to him winning defensive MVP
