I agree. Maybe it's something else holding up the deal.

Rumor was the potential for a Chris Jones deal is a problem.

Boss wants to remain highest paid defender for a few years.

He doesnt want Jones to sign immediately after knowing the terms of the Bosa deal and take the title away

I highly doubt this is the holdup, it's APY, GTD Money, Fully GTD Money, also might be the signing bonus amount, and/or payment structure of the bonus.

Cant remember who it was...think it was one of the talking heads on KNBR...said Bosa wanted to be top defensive player using APY and GTD money metrics etc.

Not for the entire length of his contract but the next 3 years or so.

Figuring out those numbers is making it tricky and it was stressed Bosa didnt want someone else to leapfrog him.

Bosa wants to set the market and be top for a while

The franchise tag still exists and is still a thing. We could tag him three times and still not reach Aaron Donald's AAV.

There's still a limit to this. Bosa can't ask for franchise QB money.

Then Nick needs to get over himself, he was quoted many times saying being the highest paid defensive player wasn't a big deal, just sign a fair deal, $35M a yr, $110M GTD, $92M fully GTD, makes him highest paid.

But if this is about being the highest for the next 3 yrs, then there's no telling how long this can go, not wanting to be leapfrogged is being selfish, getting the kind of deal I think they'd offer is life changing, I'd even up it a million or 2 a year if that gets it done, if not, then idk what to say, I usually side with the players, but he's acting like a Diva if this is true.

I think it has to do with the language and the finer details of the contract than anything else.
Come on, Bosa. get this damn thing done before the weekend. You're beloved here and we are trying to win it all, get to business with the boys!

Waiting for the Lance shoe to drop?
Bosa knows that the Niners can't hope to win without him. 7 years of Shanahan and every time they went deep into the playoffs it was because of the defense. That's likely not going to change with a QB like Purdy or Darnold. That's his leverage. Otherwise he'd have almost none. But with the Lance fiasco he knows that Shanahan's job is on the line if he doesn't play.

Trey doesn't affect Bosa's contract extension one way or another.

Lol his only leverage is the QB situation. That whole best defensive player in the NFL means nothing

Let's not forget the year he went down what happened. Sure Jimmy was hurt, but if Bosa wasn't, I still think we'd have made the playoffs. Bosa is undisputed team MVP.
Was Bosa in NY for the rocketeers? Guess it wasn't his agent. Maybe a pizza?

Would he sign at his agents office or Niners HQ? Still unsure why the NY thing was a big deal.
All I can say is don't be a Divabo. Got his bag then played like s**t. 👁 uk outplayed him because he was hungry. Get your money but don't be a dips**t.
