Just as a team can cut a player after a year into a 5 year deal because he's not performing, a player can hold out to get adequate market value when a team is underpaying him (which the niners most certainly are and have been with bosa)

I know......life is so tough for someone making 17 mill. Boo f**king hoo.

If Bosa ends up getting hurt because he isn't in football shape, heads need to roll. Starting with Paraag.

Why? Bosa is holding out.
He will only make a measly 17+ million this year and is not talking.

Why? Because he deserves his money. This is stupid. Just get him signed!

I agree to a certain degree, but hearing what I have about that whole Bosa family, and knowing what I do about Paraag, I truly believe the holdup has something to do with Bosa or his agent asking for unrealistic money. Some sources have speculated he wants the first fully guaranteed contract for a defensive player.

Idk about that. There was an interview with Bosa where he basically he's not looking to break the market, just wants to be paid what he's worth.

Paraag is notorious for making these contracts team friendly. My opinion is that the guaranteed money is enough for him yet. I could use Bosa wanting 100 mil guaranteed. So something like 5 years 150 mil with a 100 mil guaranteed.

This is a weak ass argument. When you're the best at your job in the world you expect to be paid like that.

He's always come off as super chill about it, that's part of what's made this holdout bearable. But that doesn't mean any of it is true. At some point, a defensive player will get a fully guaranteed contract, so it does make some sense to me that the reigning DPOY, who has had a season ending injury and is a Super Bowl contender's MVP would seek it now. Just speculation, but I hope it gets done soon.

If you were the best employee at your job, head & shoulders above everyone else there, regardless of your salary you would want to be paid at the top. It's not about earning $30k per year or $300k or $30m
My question is.. when is the price too much? I love Bosa and I love watching the defense dominate. But I don't want the D-line to be like the O-line. One dominant hall of Fame level player and a cast of nobody's.

I know we have other ballers on the d-line. But there's only so much money that can do around..

F all the BS, get his butt in the building right now, pay whatever it takes and get Robbie Gould in there too. Enough of this BS'n!!

I'm with ya...I wonder what he is asking if he is no longer communicating with the FO. WE NEED HIM SIGNED NOW.

Robbie is expensive but reliable.

Who said he is not talking to us.

First, Ian Rapoport reported that Nick Bosa could miss the opener because he's not really negotiating with the 49ers. Apparently he has decided what he wants his contract to look like, and he's not budging off of it.

Literally the only way to stay competitive is to have an ultra elite QB (mahomes) or consistently hit on the draft. It's impossible to pay a bunch of people

If we don't give it to him , many will :(
The most he can hold out and miss is half the season. If he tries for longer he will lose a year of eligibility. So at worst it's missing the first 8 games.

Lynch has said multiple times they have 'budgeted' for Bosa. They know he was the DPoY, and what he is worth. Why isn't he signed ?

I would be surprised if the overall # is at dispute. The issues are probably guarantees, offsets, injury language, etc

going off past holdouts, it's more of the fine print than the actual pay

you have to hit on about 3-4 starters per draft / undrafted signings per year to not have to rely on free agency .

which means each day of the draft you want to hit on one starter and then get an undrafted player here and there (undrafted players are only out performed by 1st and 2nd rounders for "starters "
