First, Ian Rapoport reported that Nick Bosa could miss the opener because he's not really negotiating with the 49ers. Apparently he has decided what he wants his contract to look like, and he's not budging off of it.

At some point the way salaries are going for QB and pass rushing DE or LB hybrids the NFL is going to have some kind of luxury deferral?? Like a team gets 1 guy on Offense and or Defense that does not count against the cap. But I guess the smaller venue teams would probably throw a fit over that. But they can't keep it the way it is now. A team paying 1 or 2 players 30+ million eats up 20-30% of the cap and you still have 50 other players. It's a recipe for disaster. Unsustainable in the near future. JMHO.

I wouldn't be. Nick is built different when it comes to taking care of his body. I bet he's been working out doing his own little training camp at one of the Bosa private facilities. The man and his family spend a lot of money on perfecting their craft and bodies.

It's time for Eddie Ds guys to take his agent for a drive to finalize the deal and offer Nick the largest DE contract. If he continues to hold out, they need to drop off Nicks agent at "The train station". Yellowstone style.

I don't know if any of you remember 1984 and our 2nd SB! Our great DE/Pass Rusher extradoinare, Lean Mean Freddie Dean, also know then as Gunga Dean Lances The Bengals, held out through October of that season! Assembly Speaker Willie Brown and Eddie D got involved in late October and a contract finally got done! We went 15-1 and won SBXIX! Not saying that will happen here, but be prepared as it could be awhile before Nick gets the deal he wants, or the 9ERS give in to what he wants!

If you were the best employee at your job, head & shoulders above everyone else there, regardless of your salary you would want to be paid at the top. It's not about earning $30k per year or $300k or $30m
Of course it's about money, it would naive to think otherwise.
Reality is that if the common man who is really good at their job stays home they get fired. Let's not compare entitled sports fantasy land to the real world.
