I heard that he will be fined 1 million dollars for every game he misses during the season.

Idk if it's technically a fine, he will just lose a game check cause he didn't play.
His salary this year is $17,859,000 - it gets paid out 1/18 a week (18 week season including the bye week). so every week he misses, he loses $992,167.

and I don't know if game checks can be "forgiven" like the training camp penalty that he's accrued.

Either way he loses that million every game. I don't think it can be forgiven either.

Yes, sir! I think both are incentivized to get this deal done before Tuesday. We need the cap space and he doesn't want to start losing game checks. we definitely don't want to play a game without him. lol I think Bosa has more leverage than we do.

Lombardi has said that his cap number in 2024 is possibly the holdup because we are already quite a bit over the cap next year. so that number is super important.

He would be losing close to two mil ?

Not receiving a game check and fined for not being there

Because he missed 3 preseason games, he can lose $992,167 times 3, but if the team & Nick can get a deal done, the 49ers will(can) waive those fines.

Dude gonna hold out into the season or what?

I read the other day his agent is top notch tough as nails.

If his agent is seriously telling him to miss games then his agent should be fired.

A good agent takes this to the line, but doesn't cross it.

I do think a deal will get done after Tuesday's cut down and we have a better idea of our finances

I wasn't talking about the pre season games.

I know, but because he missed 3 preseason games, he'd lose 3 weeks worth of the $17.859M base salary, but the 49ers can waive those, if he misses games, I don't think the 49ers can waive them(regular season games).
Come on Lattimer sign on Wednesday. Just bust a car window and yell……"Starting Defense, PLACE AT THE TABLE"

Bosa does have a ton of leverage, DPOY and all, but it's not like he has us by the nuts. The franchise tag is still a thing and TJ Watt is still the highest paid edge rusher at $28M AAV. He can only "reset" the market by so much while it still makes sense. Why should he get $35M AAV when we can just tag him four times and still have a lower AAV?

wait really? so is his salary broken up over 21 weeks then? i didn't realize the pre season paid checks like that. I thought it was just the regular season.

I think if you continually tag someone, it raises how much they can get. so I don't think it will work that way. Also, franchise tag is fully guaranteed - won't work with our cap and all that. not a good idea

He doesn't want to be the highest paid defensive end, or pass rusher, he wants to be the highest paid d lineman. Aaron donald is a DT and thats what he did, he makes like 32M - the rams gave him a ridiculous amount more than the 2nd highest paid d lineman (TJ Watt) for some reason. so that is where the AAV will be.

its more of a fine for "missing" a game if he reported and was active he wouldn't be fined for example Trent Williams and CMC
