I heard that he will be fined 1 million dollars for every game he misses during the season.

Idk if it's technically a fine, he will just lose a game check cause he didn't play.
His salary this year is $17,859,000 - it gets paid out 1/18 a week (18 week season including the bye week). so every week he misses, he loses $992,167.

and I don't know if game checks can be "forgiven" like the training camp penalty that he's accrued.

Either way he loses that million every game. I don't think it can be forgiven either.

Because he missed 3 preseason games, he can lose $992,167 times 3, but if the team & Nick can get a deal done, the 49ers will(can) waive those fines.

wait really? so is his salary broken up over 21 weeks then? i didn't realize the pre season paid checks like that. I thought it was just the regular season.
Sounds odd

Yes, sir! I think both are incentivized to get this deal done before Tuesday. We need the cap space and he doesn't want to start losing game checks. we definitely don't want to play a game without him. lol I think Bosa has more leverage than we do.

Lombardi has said that his cap number in 2024 is possibly the holdup because we are already quite a bit over the cap next year. so that number is super important.

Where did Lombardi say that?

In one of his videos he posted on YT today.

I love Bosa but the Niners should of put the pressure on him by fining him everyday he wasn't in camp

I trust AB but that isn't what I'm seeing
"Believe it or not, a preseason paycheck has NOTHING to do with the size of an existing contract (if there is one).
ALL players get a "per diem" beginning with the first day of preseason training camp.

In the 2021/2022 seasons, rookies got, on average, $1,075 for each week (ending the week before the first regular season game), and the veterans got $1,900/week (the amounts go up next year).

All players get reimbursed for meals not furnished by the team on travel days (preseason, regular season, and postseason) at the same rate regardless of experience, approximately: breakfast is $38, lunch is $48, and Dinner is $66.

When the regular season begins, players are paid 1/17 per week of their contracted annual amount."

But he put up like 2 or 3 videos today and I couldn't remember which one it was.
Today would be a great day to sign Nick Bosa.

He doesn't want to be the highest paid defensive end, or pass rusher, he wants to be the highest paid d lineman. Aaron donald is a DT and thats what he did, he makes like 32M - the rams gave him a ridiculous amount more than the 2nd highest paid d lineman (TJ Watt) for some reason. so that is where the AAV will be.

The average of the five highest-paid edge rushers is $25.4M.

So four tags in a row would be $25.4M, $30.5M, $36.6M and $43.9M (each 20% higher than the last). That would be $136.4M over four years, equivalent to $34.1M a year.

And sure, he may want more than Aaron Donald and will probably get it. But franchise tags are based on position. It's the obvious reason why Kittle wasn't going to make $15M+ a year like some were so adamant he would.

I mean… they can still fine him. Technically he has been fined. They just publicly promised they'll rescind them once a deal is reached.

yeah but those are huge huge cap hits, if you do it that way - there isn't any flexibility to move the money around and create space. It's much better to do it in a contract so you can spread the hits around. we are trying to do an extension right now that would drop his cap hit in 2023 from 17M to 10M or so - if we tag him next year, we will have to cut a bunch of players to make it work, same thing the following year. I get what you're saying but it doesn't give you the ability to fit it under the cap. we would need just a straight up $30M in cap space for him each year.
In the end I am confident that he will be signed because he makes all 10 other defenders better when he is on the field but what a king's ramson he would bring if traded.

If we don't get a franchise quarterback in return, then it's not worth it. Period. Not even a 2018 Khalil Mack package or 2019 Laremy Tunsil package would make the trade worth it.

Yeah, It would have to be like Trevor Lawrence, Herbert, Josh Allen. lol something like that. which we wouldn't get it anyways. I don't want Bosa anywhere but where he belongs, here. Would love to have his brother here though. muahaha

Yeah all the quarterbacks I would trade Bosa for are unavailable (the AFC Big Six and Hurts). Guys like Cousins, Kyler, Rodgers, Goff, Stafford, etc. are either all too far in their careers to be worth it, haven't quite proven themselves as worth it, or are in-division.

The only franchise QB that makes ANY sense and seems possible… and it seems very crazy and ironic… is Dak Prescott. That would be something, but I think I would still take Brock Purdy + Bosa.

i would rather die than trade Bosa for Dak.. a slow... painful.. death. lol I wouldn't trade for Hurts - I'm still uncertain if he is elite or not. damn good but i want to see him this year.

I think Purdy is going to be a monster, so screw all of them.
