We had Bosa on a rookie deal and squandered any opportunity to win a Super Bowl.

We now have Purdy on a rookie deal so our Super Bowl window is still open

Yeah like how the Rams squandered Aaron Donald's rookie contract.

There is absolutely zero reason this shouldnt have been completed yet. Zero.

tell it to one of the best run orgs in the game, the Steelers and TJ Watt; each side waiting for the others point of weakness.. Bosa doesn't want to miss games / paychecks, SF doesn't want him to either, so I see them both on the same side, here. Agent hopeful the org panics and unloads a panic offer, like you are suggesting. Only way it's already completed, is if we way overpaid by some comical longshot. Otherwise, the players agent is prepared to wait it out until the leadup to week 1. I like my org doing what it can to keep this cap hit as low as possible, I know it will be a fat deal, and he deserves it, but no need to hit our cap more than necessary.

The TJ Watt situation and the Bosa situation are wildly different. Very uneducated take to compare the two.

You wanna see how this one ages for you? We can bet on it. I bet there is nothing to worry about, and Nick is in around the time TJ was in. Do you want to bet Nick will miss week 1? Or do you think he'll sign as we get close here, as I do?

Nothing about what you just said refutes anything. The situations are wildly different. TJ Watt was at training camp every single day with his teammates. While he didnt participate in team drills or preseason games, he was there for every second of training camp and the preseason.

So like I said, the situations are wildly different.

It's officially time to panic. John needs to kick Paraque out and say he is taking over this negotiation.

Yeah I'm not concerned about all that noise, I'm more focused on when the deal will get done. I think it will be around a similar time on both, for probably the same reasons.

Is Paraag even involved with the negotiations? I thought he was busy running Jed's soccer team now.

Agreed, but I still think he's asking for something they don't feel they should give in on. One of the best writers speculated that he doesn't want to have another player leapfrog him for highest paid defender anytime soon, which is a ridiculous ask. I still really think he's asking for the 1st fully guaranteed contract for a defensive player.

When we knew we could not sign Nick we thought the better route would be to reverse the Trey trade to unlock Nick. We as an organization appreciate what Nick has done for us and he will succeed with Dallas as we are all pulling for him".
Sound about right 😆

LOL ok.

The 49ers have much more of an incentive to get Bosa in before Watt was extended. We are installing a new defensive scheme. We need Bosa in here now. The team is dropping the ball. Get him signed.

Well in a way they still have Bosa on a somewhat rookie type deal for 2 more years. Once he is signed his cap hit will be like $7 Million this season and usually the 1st year of the new deal is somewhat cheap also.

to be fair....the designated pass rushing DE doesnt exactly have a complicated scheme change to learn

The LBs and DBs change the most with blitz happy Wilks as DC

New scheme lol, Nick is gonna be fine. See QB, get QB.
Let's hear your magic wand to have gotten him here 2 months or so ago? It would have been to dramatically overpay this deal, even more than it will end up being. Can't do that, in a sport with a salary cap, the team is seeking the best deal for the club, just as Nick is seeking the best deal for him. Eventually one or both sides will have to back down, and that's coming very soon.

not really....

If ever you could justify it....this is the situation you could

This team is a superbowl contender with him, they are not without him. If he gets hurt, it is no different then not signing him. At least you took a shot

DEs are the safest money in football

Sign a QB and cant block for him....its not gonna work like you think it will

Sign a QB and dudes drop passes, you got problems

Sign a WR and the QB cant get the ball to him, you got problems..

Sign a CB and cant rush the passer, not even Dion Sanders can hold up

Sign a LBer and cant keep blockers from the second level you got problems

DE is the safest money in football, they make everyone on the defense better.
Very true.
