Any idea who this Jason Dumas is? Any track record of being right? I'm warry of anyone right now, doubt anyone knows anything type thing.

Looks like a Bay Area fan so i believe him as much as anyone on this website. But it is a safe bet the deal will be done before the Steelers game.
I said it yesterday and I'll say it again. This idea that everyone that signs a new deal has to be the highest paid is silly because the moment someone else signs after you you won't be the highest paid anymore. When you're making $15, $20 or $25 million per year i sit really that important? Is it going to change the way you live? These guys often forget where they came from when they start making big money.

I agree that a big part of it is because of the agents. Some are notoriously hard to deal with. It's not so much about how much they'll make from client A but how many more clients they'll sign up as a result of landing the big deals.

The hilarious thing is one of the hardest agents to deal with is Drew Rosenhaus, yet we have a great relationship with him, he repped so many 49ers in the past, and got the deals done on time.

I checked his profile and he's a 95.7 host; it's mostly basketball stuff with occasional football stuff. Haven't been able to fact check anything from him yet though. He hinted 4-5 days ago that Bosa could miss games.

I don't pretend to know what the story is with Bosa's contract negotiations, but having spent time in the Hollywood grist mill, I know that a lot of this crap comes from the agents. They want to be able to say that they got their client the biggest deal ever, which means, of course, that they got one of the biggest commissions ever. Quite frankly, the whole sports pay scale is way out of whack. The amount of money the top guys are making is completely out of line with any earthly notion of the actual worth of what they do.

Deshaun Watson, $240 million guaranteed for playing football for a few years, please. It's all pretty ridiculous. If you had a contract that paid you $12 million a year and you only played for four years, you would still have made $48 million, which is way more than enough for anyone to live on through the course of their lifetime. If you invest it smartly it would probably last your children's lifetime as well. Of course, if you are the sort of person who just REALLY needs to live in a $30 million mansion, then I guess $48 million wouldn't cut it. In which case, it all ends up just being about greed and ego, neither of which is deserving of any of our sympathies.

Pretty much agree. The agent's job is to get the best deal for his client, nothing else. On top of that, his salary is *BASED* on what kind of deal he gets for his client. That's two biases that he's loaded with once the agent gets into contract negations with the GM's of the football world. Just got to be patient and keep grinding. If Lynch doesn't exercise patience, this can get into a Reggie White situation where once the threat escalation begins, it can't be stopped, and there is a sudden parting of the ways.

Bosa is no doubt the best offensive player in the league at the moment. But he is also very expensive. Our roster is jammed against the cap. We would not find another Bosa but we could find an adequate rusher to take his place who might not be quite as good but will be a lot less expensive and give us some cap room for a few years to come. What will a good but not as great an edge rusher costs us in real terms? A couple of sacks during the year and a couple of hurry ups? Is Bosa really worth the cost over the next few years?

Of course Bosa is worth it. What is the worth of a dominant franchise player like a Patrick Mahomes or a Chris Jones? They are worth their weight in gold. The trick is to make sure that the players that surround them - help them, not hurt them. The Charles Haley trade comes to mind. You just can't let that kind of talent go and expect to win consistently. Bosa gives you that almost certain probability of a playoff team if you match him with a Jimmy or Jimmy-like QB in Brock. It's basically Kyle's job security blanket. Give Kyle a dominant Defensive end and a Pro-bowl QB, and he'll have a job for pretty much until he retires from coaching. It's not Kyles money, but it is Kyle's job security that he is worried about, so he'll spend as much of the owners money as he can to secure his job and make sure his family is fed.
He is pretty locked in with the warriors and was one of the first to report Wiggins was going to return.

he is legit, but sources differ.

I don't know about in the Bay Area but radio hosts in Denver don't know s**t about what's going on with the Broncos.

At this point I would rather Bosa just sit out until both sides get it together. This is ridiculous. This isn't like the 2018 Raiders with Mack who had a franchise QB to pay and had zero playoff wins or contention aspirations to their name.

You never trade guys like Bosa, Aldon, Charles or Fred. Those guys are franchise players that dynasties are created from. Whatever Bosa is asking, I'll be paying if I'm ShanaLynch. I can get journeymen DT's, or average DB's, if I need to scrimp and save for the cap space that goes to Bosa. Better yet, do what the 49ers are doing and continue to draft cheap but talented players to man the rest of the defensive positions, but Bosa is sacred, and he'll be paid what he needs to be paid to stay a 49er.
ya but reddit says Bosa was getting traded, forget the Jason Dufus guy

Yes it does change the way you live. For example, you can have breakfast in San Diego, Lunch in Las Vegas, and Dinner in Seattle, and make it back home to San Diego in time to get a good nights rest....

...if you have a Jet. Decent twin engine jets cost about 4 million to buy, and 1 million to maintain.
