So what was the f**king holdup then?
Takes two to tango, agents like to drag this out. Get max dollars, and get the player out of months of offseason activity. Player has full control over their offseason, more time at home and with family. etc. Can't fault the org as the player and agent have to get onboard. They will, he'll be out there week 1 and we will be fine.
He could also just decide to play this season and then agree not to franchise and part ways next season after his contract runs out, but if he gets hurt...

Human nature. The process.

I've been in dozens, if not hundreds, of mediation sessions and settlement conferences lasting from hours to weeks. Invariably, the process gets serious and speeds up during the final hours or minutes, with 80% of the time spent very inefficiently prior to that. Without being "in the room" during all communications, it's fairly useless to speculate or project.

Just say you spoke with your sources and they think Bosa signs between now and 9/9. And that it will make him the highest paid defensive player in history. The years are being debated between 4 to 8. I promise you'll be right and then you can blue checkmark yourself as a mini Adam Shefter.

I get it. It just appears, like you said, that both sides have been dicking around and not serious this whole time.
