So what was the f**king holdup then?
Human nature. The process.

I've been in dozens, if not hundreds, of mediation sessions and settlement conferences lasting from hours to weeks. Invariably, the process gets serious and speeds up during the final hours or minutes, with 80% of the time spent very inefficiently prior to that. Without being "in the room" during all communications, it's fairly useless to speculate or project.

This dude also made a stupid ass YouTube video how the 49ers are going to trade Nick Bosa cause loser Grant Cohn and some Reddit chick named Kristen Wong said so

Please Kinlaw smack that dumba$$.Cohen, he is the worst.
The combination of Bosa, the kicker issue, Trey and all the wasted picks, and the O line are driving me crazy.

I get it. It just appears, like you said, that both sides have been dicking around and not serious this whole time.

Yup, game of chicken to see who blinks first.
I really think Paraag Marathe is the problem here. Jed York needs to step in and order him to make this deal. the 49ers don't have the leverage here. Bosa does. This team can't survive another botched situation before the first game even starts. This is just terrible. Top players cost money. Paraag Marathe needs to get right with that. Bosa shouldn't be expect to take a "team friendly" deal, or some hometown discount. Pay the man goddammit.

I'm about to go post on Twitter then bosa signing soon, at least most of you guys know me from here. You guys have a source, baby!! BRB

Just say you spoke with your sources and they think Bosa signs between now and 9/9. And that it will make him the highest paid defensive player in history. The years are being debated between 4 to 8. I promise you'll be right and then you can blue checkmark yourself as a mini Adam Shefter.

Hahaha excellent strategy. Works Everytime, 60% of the time.

Literally only concerned about the kicker if the games are close

this isnt true at all.

they have the 5th yr option, two years of franchise tagging and can start collecting the $50K / day fines they previously said theyre waiving while they work on a deal.

Paraag is literally the best at what he does

Lots of confirmation bias flying around.

So, what we have at this point, is a tweet from the KRON Sports Director that Bosa will sign a deal this week and will play for the 49ers against Pittsburgh. Is that right? Every other report I've seen is based upon the KRON SD tweet?

The 49ers are very good at not releasing information. But also good at releasing hints to some selected reporters when the time is right. Perhaps this is legit?

I agree that we can tag him and exercise the 5th year option. But what if he don't play? And tagging him will be the worst decision. This will ruin the relationship, and he may not play under the tag.

Agree, and Paraag has taken the art of frontloading to another level. Not many ballclubs probably understand how to frontload and not many ballclub's even have the balls to frontload a player contract.

Then he can decide to play for the Niners or not play for anyone. If he doesn't sign the franchise tender then he doesn't get paid.
