DE Nick Bosa "Smaller Bear" NO POLITICS

Yeah, dead money for players long gone is not how this front office works and good for them (putting D Ford aside). I don't think they want to have many salaries so spread out and guaranteed we are doomed like the current Rams.

I think it's part of the problem here. They might be holding very tight to their long term plans and who needs or potentially needs to be paid in a couple of years. Well of course they are. This is a company and any company worth their weight would be doing the same. Not sure they want instant orgasm now, pay whatever he wants, and in a bad place later.

I also agree the cap is going up but you cannot assume what it will be when making these decisions. Plan low and be rewarded later.
my guess is it will be a 4 year extension, but hopefully 5, and hopefully not 3

Watered down beer and a hotdog = $47.99 at the game
ticket prices = $too much.99
Parking lot $ = don't drive there hahah

Lol, I forget what it is to park at the game to tailgate, I went with a friend in 2021 for the opener, was fun, this was before I got myself out there with the podcast appearances.

As for better explaining, check this article I did last week, https://49erscap.com/index.php/2023/08/24/explaining-how-the-49ers-can-keep-their-core-together-long-term/

I know that players all want to be the highest paid at their position but even a great pass rusher like Bosa isn't worth $30 million per year. A DE isn't like a QB who is part of every offensive play. A DE can only have so much impact since he's just one of 11 guys and plays often are run in another part of the field.

I looked at Nicks impressive stats on Pro Football Reference and they still have minimal impact compared to a QB. He's averaged about .9 sacks per game. Three combined tackles per gameI 1.1 tackles for loss. 2.1 QB hits. One QB hurry per game.

Most teams run about 55-60 plays per game. If you combine all of his stats he's having an impact on about 9-10 plays per game. That's great but it's not on the same level as a QB. I think the whole NFL pay structure is out of whack and its' going to destroy some teams down the road. You can only keep pushing salaries back in order to fit under the cap for so long. If Bosa get's $30 million then somewhere down the road we're going to let a player walk.

Yeah that's kind of how it's always worked since the cap was implemented. You pay your stud players you will inevitably have other players you'd prefer to keep that you have no choice but to let walk, then some other team gets to take advantage of you'r plight and they bring that good player you regret letting walk onto their squad to make them better. Thats the whole intent of the cap and FA, to establish league parity.

actually, they have good beer and drinks
Concessions are free for ticket holders
Parking is cheaper for ticket holders
But the ticket prices.. are ok for me, but they keep going up and i wouldn't want to buy from a reseller

A good friend of mine, his dad had season tickets at candlestick for I think like 8-9 spots (it was all next to each other). He made a fortune during the harbaugh years reselling but couldn't give them away sometimes during the bad years. When Levi's opened, he bought 2 really good spots for him and his wife and then 4 spots elsewhere in the stadium, because they were so much more expensive than candlestick with the upfront costs. Licenses or whatever they're called.
Most likely this weekend or Monday. He gets 1 week of prep for the Steelers. Get it done!

thats the trend now with all stadiums.. selling seat licenses for rights to buy season tickets lol

I'm paying for all these guys, I vote to give Bosa what he wants

It'll be a 5yr extension if he wants to beat the kind of money Donald, Watt, and Joey Bosa got, he can't do a 3yr deal, the 49ers can't afford that cap wise, 5yr yes. It's clear Bosa wants tops in APY, GTD, Fully GTD, and likely a huge signing bonus.

it's probably the hold up, who wants the 5th year anymore when it's a not a real year. I guessing Bosa wants 5 year money in 4 years which make it harder cap wise

Then give him a 6-7 year deal. He's the type to be very good until 34 anyways. He's literally the best player on the team and within the league he's always in the conversation.
Great that he will sign. I want to see him in the 1st game.

No way he would agree to a 6-7 year deal

Probably, but no way the fo should take anything less than 5. I assume the agent is selling the one more big pay day around 30.

I slightly disagree. A player like Bosa only shows up on 10 or so plays, But he does factor in on another 30 or so.

Holds up very well in the run game, especially in comparison to his pass rush peers, you will struggle to find a Bosa blunder. He forces double teams and STILL can win, creating "triple" team situations for long developing plays. And finally he plays all 3 downs.

Players like Bosa and Warner break pay ceilings because they do their job and help others with their job.
