DE Nick Bosa "Smaller Bear" NO POLITICS

Seems like we are at least close to getting a deal done based off Lynch and Kyle's comments. You don't sound that optimistic if you are no where close in a deal. All signs point to it getting done before week 1 but that isn't a guarantee.

I'm honestly not worried about it, the way the 49ers do contract structures, years 1 & 2 are small cap hits, year 3 is when it'll go up a bit, by year 5 it is a lot. But I trust what Paraag does, not a fan of low balling players.
Signing bonus is to give the player their 1st & 2nd year salaries without killing the cap. With Bosa it will probably be about 75-90mil , but spread out over the 5 yr contract we hope he gets will only count as 15-18.5 mil cap hit. Something like that. 3rd thru 5th years the cap starts to get hit hard. We will see. I think his contract will be in the 160-180mil range myself but l'm jut guessing. I just hope he signs soon. Go Niners

Bosa isn't getting a $75M-$90M signing bonus, more likely a $35M or $40M signing bonus.

Because he needs to protect himself also. When Kyle gets rid of players, People say it's just business. Well why can't it be the same for the players? The Niners need Bosa alot more than Bosa needs the Niners.

This is a falsehood. The Niners will be here far longer than Bosa ever will. Tom Brady was the GOAT football player but last I checked he only won 7 of the 20 years he played which means that chips could be won without him. Bosa Ian;t even a QB. We can't tank the team for anyone short of Pat Mahomes. Now what we should do is offer him the highest paid non QB contract with the highest guarantees afforded anyone NOT a QB and then if he ain't signing we go the Crabtree route with him. The 49ers have his rights the next 3 seasons if they so choose and if Bosa wants to play ball it will be here with the 49ers and only the 49ers these next 3 seasons which will be his best 3 seasons physically so there is that. His agent needs to have his client come and get this big payday and get on with football because whether Bosa is here or not we will be playing football and my money is that we will be playing it well

The reality is- this is very fair and what a player of his caliber deserves. Tired of the "get a deal done' talk. Um...Paraag could easily get a deal done if that's the standard- just literally give in to everything the agent is asking for and a deal will be done. is that how we want to do business?

Am I the only one that doesn't understand the big deal of how much guaranteed money he gets? Unless you plan on cutting him or trading him he is going to get the full contract anyways. Does anybody really believe that if Bosa signs a 5 year extension he is not going to play all 5 of those years as a Niner? Really the only downfall would be if he had a career threatening injury during that time or got into serious trouble outside of Football. Now with some players yes it matters but not 25 year old elite players who you plan on never letting go of.

There's a difference between fully guaranteed and total guaranteed that lombardi always touches on, dont fully get it, it involves amount if he gets injured or something

Yup, David Lombardi broke this down and I asked AB once and he explained as well. I forgot, but there is an important distinction. I think it's like guaranteed at signing vs. guaranteed as long as you are on the roster. But I'd defer to the experts.

Travel… when?

If true he will begin practice monday the week of Pittsburgh

Perfect. Plenty of time to get him up to speed.

Let's hope there is a big announcement! I've kind of felt like Friday would be the day they'd get it done, If not by then - then it's time to worry. I haven't been worried about this, it's just annoying. Lol I want the team focused on Pittsburgh and bosa there. Not playing hardball, I get it though. Hopefully it ends soon

I would get really worried when it starts to get into next week with no deal.

It's worth repeating: Two years ago TJ Watt signed <72 hours before the Steelers' season started. He still made a major impact that first game.

I can see that happeneing, although I'm confident ShanaLynch will get the deal done this week. Either way, Bosa will be a 49er for a long time. Now that the 53 and the practice squad is established, they have more time to sit down and hammer out a good deal for both sides.
Is there a Bosa tracker now? Lol is he in CA yet? Let's get ut goin, chop chop
