Read ian Rapaport's article. He says they are not close, but then he says 49ers put a substantial offer on the table. That tells me they are not only close, but that its the details that are taking time. Kyle expects him to be there next week so that means sometime before next week things should get done. I hope.

Who knows what the status truly is. What's important is that the two sides are negotiating and neither side is sharing externally. The intentions are all positive.

The media meanwhile, is filling in the blanks. They have nothing material to go on, so the speculation is rampant. There's an old adage, no news is good news.

I think at some point in time the money will be good enough for him to sign because he wants to play football, AND he'll be fined for missing games. The franchise tag is about 20 million for a 2023 defensive end, so if Bosa doesn't want to be franchise tagged, he'll know that the 20 million is the soft limit to his counter offer. Bosa may want MOOOOoooaaaarrrrr! But he can't ask for any amount significantly more than the Franchise Tag. (I.e. he can't ask for an infinite amount of Brinks trucks.)

That article is outdated.

These things change in minutes. Especially with an artificial deadline coming up.

This reminds me of when we traded up and everyone thought it was for Mac Jones. It ended up being Trey Lance.

Everyone, whether it's media members, fans or random Reddit posters, wants to pretend they know something. My guess is nobody actually knows anything. The reality could be anything from they're working on a complicated blockbuster Mahomes-like extension (hopefully but probably not), to working on a blockbuster trade (hopefully not and probably not) to everything in between.

The moment the bomb drops, that's when the long wait might make some sense.

Well we have some landmarks to navigate the Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Real games start in a little over a week. Bosa will start getting fined big time for missing games and these aren't small fines. We have a general idea of the F-tag amounts for this year and next. So we, as fans, have some sort of parameters to see where things are going. As far as I can tell, both sides are moving forward and closer together - no indications this is going to be a Reggie White situation, as far as I can see.

Just lock the Agent in the Restroom and get a 1 to 1 sit down with Bosa.

Apparently we're $4M apart in negotiations for the APY.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Bosa and the Niners are trying to meet in the middle as the two are $4 million apart in negotiations:

We can start with Nick Bosa, who isn't going anywhere for a long time. The question is whether he's going to be the highest-paid nonquarterback of all time—he'll be the highest-paid edge rusher. The difference between the two distinctions is less than $4 million per year, and the Niners and Bosa's people have been trying to bridge that gap for a while now. They have an artificial deadline coming (the start of the season), and at some point something almost has to get done. It's when, not if.
Joey did the same thing with the chargers, the hold up was guaranteed $$$, I imagine that this is also the case with Nick.

Just waiting for someone to panic.
