Why is that on the FO?? If Bosa is off in crazy town — why would the Niners meet him there?

Youre talking about week 1 2023 problems when this is a multiple year contract. They are not the same.

He's not in crazy town and if reports that they are $4 million apart then it's a HUGE fail by the FO. Bosa has all the leverage in this situation, and if the team even loses him for 1 week and it costs a game, they will have shot themselves in BOTH feet.

Plus, Lynch has said multiple times that they have 'budgeted' for Bosa's contract

Just a guess, but based on context I think Breer got the "almost $4M apart" number from the difference in Watt's and AD's contracts ($28M vs. $31.67M).

$4M annually or is it for just one of the years? being off 20 mil is quite a problem.. lol just give him more signing bonus and get this damn rodeo over with.

Yeah, PER YEAR! What, from $32m per year to $36? That's $20m over the anticipated 5 year contract, over what's already a record contract. We can't do that.

Bosa does Not have the leverage. He's on his 5th year option guaranteed now, and two additional years franchised would Not cost us more than his new contract will. Plus, that way we have injury protection year to year, and Bosa doesn't, and we can still work on a long term deal.

Come on, we're glad to make him the highest paid non quarterback Ever. Take Yes for an answer, Nick. Your royalties will be much larger when you are a multi time Super Bowl Champion.

It's a pretty sizable gap…add a million and make the other 3 incentive based.

I mean Nick doesn't really come off a a commercial type guy lol.

Well what if that $4M is the difference in being the highest paid non QB ever, or not?

I think the team long ago acknowledged that expectation, so I think no.

I mean just pay him. People want the best defensive player in football…that s**t is expensive.
They are probally low-balling him if they are $4 Million apart. Because even if Bosa is asking for $35 Million it means they are offering him $31 which is a low-ball offer imo because it doesn't involve him being the highest paid non QB which is what everyone knew they would have to pay. He's probally asking for 34 and Niners are offering like 30. He's currently the best defensive player in the league who is 25 and just entering his prime and should be paid like the best defensive player in the league.
