He is an edge rusher not a QB. Not worried at all. Doesnt Wilks utilize his DBs in the pass rush?

Edge rushers dont win SBs.

Bosa has been more important to this team and our success than any qb or even Shannahan. He's a complete game disruptor. With the 17 game schedule we r on without him for a game or 2 but no more

How many plays per game do you think Bosa actually impacts the game?

Last player to win SB mvp at DE was 1985 - Richard Dent.

Every play he's on the field. His double and triple team makes everyone's job easier.

Getting tired of the Bosa holdout BS. Get your ass on the field week one. You dont like the contract then leave as a FA next year. You are making 17 million UNDER CONTRACT this year. Some one would have to work 170 years at $100,000 to make that kind of money.

And none of them can do what he can do. You're worth what they pay you. He has the leverage. The niners FO has already said they aren't trading him and they're not letting him walk for a 3rd round comp pick lol. We'll pay him, but if now seems unlikely he'll suit up for week 1. Which means we're probably at pick 'em instead of -2.5.

It's true that players get paid based on their value to the team but athletes and entertainers have an inflated view of their value. Owners and promoters seem willing to keep paying the ridiculous amounts of money but how much longer are fans going to be willing to subsidize this. The salaries of the fans aren't rising in proportion to the athletes. I don't know anyone that's getting a 20%, 30% or 40% increase in their annual salary. Most would be happy if they saw a 5 or 10% raise. The distance between athletes and the fans gets wider every year. The days when the star player used to live in your neighborhood are long gone. They live in huge mansions or in gated enclaves now.
It's hard to have any sympathy for guys holding out when they want $30 million per year and the team is offering $28 million or whatever the amount is.
Maybe Bosa does need to miss week 1 to remind the FO and the fans what this defense looks like when he's not on the field.

I'm sure that's what his agent is thinking

He plays football........he shouldnt be on a pedestal.

I agree that market dictates (our fault as fans ) but he should be honourable enough play out his contract at 17 million. The fans that support him make a very small fraction.

Bigger picture is we complain about the 1% and the rich getting richer while defending entitled pro athletes makes millions that play a game.

Do actually think fans will stop forking over $300, $400, $500 per ticket? Stop buying merch? Stop watching?

Whether you like it or not, his circumstances are fundamentally different than any of ours. We also have the right to hire an agent or attorney during contract negotiations, but there's much less any of us can only do that any number of other applicants can. And if the niners don't pay him, there are plenty of other teams that could jump at that opportunity. I've never felt that Bosa was a Ra-ra Go Team! type of guy. He builds himself up in his lab. He and his brother are serious progressional DEs, more like mercenaries than a leader like Fred. But if we want to win a SB, you better believe we'll need him.

Edge rusher… arguing semantics of a 3-4 OLB vs 4-3 DE in many cases is a distinction without a difference .

I believe 10 SB MVPs have been handed out to defensive players in total.
