No they don't. Purdy would have to turn into Mahomes.
They won't even make the playoffs without Bosa

...and what happens if Bosa is injured and misses a good part of the season? Now you can say goodbye to at least three key players in your future.
Same answer.
The Niners don't win a SB this year with no Bosa. As of right now, there is no better option for the team chemistry and chances at a SB (which also probably goes through #1 seed) to have Nick Bosa playing for them this year. This is clear to me. An equal player trade is out of question this late in the preseason.
So, give me an all pro player now to win now.

Wednesday morning I'll officially hit the panic button. That's the first "game week" practice (today was a bonus practice).
Until then, I will hang on to hope he plays Week 1.
He could easily come back and then get a significant soft tissue injury that puts him out for weeks because he hasn't been practicing or playing all off season .

The guaranteed money is only a bad thing if he gets a career threatening injury or he somehow is just not the same player which is very unlikely. If Bosa signs a 5 year extension are the Niners really going to get rid of him in the next 6 years? It's not like he is approaching 30 and could fall off at any moment.
I find it funny that fans are in an uproar about his asking price when the team has been getting away with highway robbery in 3 of the last 4 years when it comes to Bosa's production compared to what he was making. How much was his cap when he won DROY? How much was it when he had 15 1/2 sacks 2 years ago? How much last season when he had 18 1/2 sacks and won DPOY?
They got a huge bargain the last 4 years and now it's time to pay him. Actually last 5 years because this season they are getting him at a bargain also.

Disappointed in both Bosa and the Niners. They should've prioritized this sooner, imo. But, starting to lose some love/respect for Bosa. I mean, c'mon bro. They offer you the highest contract offer ever and you still hold out and still want more? When you're technically under contract? Does the final year of an NFL contract even matter anymore?

We ain't winning no gah damn SB without Bosa especially with this current group of ends. The depth and DE was already questionable with Bosa
Why not? Lots of SB winners dont have a top DE.

I've given my answer a couple of times already but I'll state it differently here.
I believe the two other agents are waiting to see who blinks first. I would be willing to wager that within 24 hours of the first of those three players signing, the other two would sign.
It isn't about the money. That is just talk. The money is close enough to do a deal, but no one wants to be the one to settle for a deal and see the other guy get $2M/yr right after. This if for bragging rights, not money. Unless Lynch and Jed decide to blow the lid off the market, which I would be shocked to see, Ayrault isn't going to sign until at least one of the other two signs first.

Reading the tea leaves now it seems as if the 49ers have done one of what I thought they needed to do which was to put up more in guarantees than TJ Watt is receiving BUT the other thing was to supersede AD in annual dollars amount at $31M per. I am guessing Bosa wants 32 or 33 and the 49ers are at 28 or 29 and that is likely where they are getting the reports that the 49ers are about $4M dollars away from where Bosa wants them. The 49ers are likely trying to set the market where TJ Watt is as a OLB/DE while AD is at DT. This is likely the holdup and to be honest you can't fault either side. The 49ers are saying "Bosa you play on the end so I am gonna make you the highest paid end". Bosa is likely saying "bump that. I am the DPOY regardless of whether I am an end or not so pay me more per year than AD". My gut feeling is Bosa is right here but I get the the 49ers don't want to set precedent that players come in wanting to jump to the top of other positions than their own
This is gonna take some time but the 49ers have the leverage of having Bosa under contract for 3 more years if they so choose and holding out will only cost Bosa both time and money the longer he sits ala Crabtree
