Ridiculous. Sports salaries have just gotten completely out of hand. Nobody who plays a game for a living is worth that kind of money.

You're worth the value you create. Football creates/generates billions. So yes, they are worth it. Technically, they're underpaid for the revenue they generate the league. Same with basketball, steph alone has generated billions for the warriors and the teams value, tv contracts etc.

i think they make a ridiculous amount but to say no one is worth that? You're worth the value you create. Since they create billions, they are.

I'd say they're actually worth closer to what they earn than the rest of America, aside from non-skilled labor.

All I know is that nick bosa is the best in the world at what he does for a living and is now compensated for it, properly. Nothing to cry about it. Athletes generate billions for their companies/businesses.

it's not like they own Tesla and Twitter, two companies that don't profit, and are the wealthiest man in the world or anything …

The guy who invented the ketchup packet that we tear and squeeze out the ketchup into our fries and burgers is worth hundreds of millions.

That fool stands straight up every play. No way lol. I wish though.

That's why he deflects so many passes lol

I know someone in the family who patented the sticky stuff on duck tape, drives a Bentley. Lol if you create something with value that is widely used, you'll make a lot of money. A lot of the time it's simple stuff that people can use daily or consistently.

i kept bringing up that Watt signed on the Wed before week 1 and he still went on to win DPOY that year

I think with what surrounds Bosa, he wins DPOY this year...going away. I think he breaks the sack record too, because Wilks is going to causes concern elsewhere with his aggressiveness, opening up lanes / 1v1 / etc. for Bosa (24 sacks total).

They recently started profiting but didn't for a long time. I actually drive a Tesla. I love it.

I think the success hit for most serial entrepreneurs is 1 out of 7. For every 1 successful business, 6 fail. I think drafting in the first round of the NFL has a better success rate than that.
Have we heard who will be cut to make a spot for him?

I'm not worried about what others think, gave up on that years ago, it's my blood circulation 0.o

Yeah I saw that too. Basically because of the NIL rule, Caleb Williams will just wait for who 's gonna have the first pick in the draft.
Smart move by him but honestly that makes me appreciate even more Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow.
The Jaguars are trash, nobody should go to the Bengals, yadi yada. Those guys were proud to be first overall pick and help re-build a franchise.

Jokes on him, Arizona will probably be picking #1 in 2025 too.
or Rams will take him since they are obviously also trying to get the first pick…

Still a,little confused about the contract. Are we getting any cap relief this year? Heard he's still on year 5. What does that mean.

Most likely lowered his cap hit this year to about $10M, not confirmed yet though.

Yea so so how can the cap be lowered if he's still on the same deal he was before the extension for this year? Spreading the 5-year bonus money into this year shouldn't help right? It would only make things worse for the deal that's already there. What's the actual explanation?

let's wait for the deets and the update to Spotrac
So from the little that's been reported it's an extension which should help on the cap starting next year depending on his signing bonus. Great news for 49er land. Welcome back young man. Now get your a@@ back to the team.

I'm not 100% how it works but my understanding is that they convert some of it into different types of payments, instead of base salary.

we will wait until the details come out, but I'm sure AB can help break it down.
