Read the article with quotes and it sounds like Schefter is speculating entirely and doesn't know s**t.

Even if the cap goes up to $278 million next year they will need to trade or restructure some players. You just can't have 6 players making over $20 million per year. I know players all say they're happy for Nick but deep down inside you know they're saying 'I'm gonna get mine". All these guys work hard and it's only natural to feel a little envy when someone is making 10 to 15 times more than you are.

"There it is. Nick Bosa, new deal, gets the deal done," Schefter continued. "And so the Niners find out. And I think what happened here is, ultimately, the two sides can negotiate all they want. They could feel they're far apart all they want. But I think in the end, Nick Bosa has to say, 'I want to be there for my team. It's important for me to be there with my guys. We've taken this far enough. Let's go and get this done.'
"And I think he gives a directive in the end, 'Hey, I'm taking this deal. It's a record deal. I'm the richest defensive player in NFL history, richest non-quarterback deal in NFL history.'"
So it would seem that Bosa eventually had enough of the long-drawn-out process. The defensive end wanted to end the stalemate and rejoin his teammates.
"'I'll take it from here,'" Schefter added. "That's exactly what Nick Bosa said."

Paraag won.
Seems like the typical agent game. Make the team wait until the 12th hour 59th minute before you accept, because they may panic and up the offer (even though we are quietly happy with what's on the table).... which as scummy as it sounds is actually great business.

Not surprised, I had a feeling this had everything to do with his agent trying to milk as much of a cut for himself as possible than doing whats best for Bosa. They had a top deal on the table but it wasn't good enough for the agent. Glad Bosa stepped in and got the deal done.

Bosa could of probably forced a little more but he got a killer deal and I'm glad he signed it, I haven't seen the details but from the big picture - seems like a very fair deal for bosa.
i doubt the team would offer a deal that isn't good for us too.

A agents entire job is to get the max amount of money for their client. Trust me this agent ain't hurting for money with JJett and Joe Cool on deck.

Yeah Paraag!! Knew he had a great offer and put it on Bosa to correct his agent. Well played sir.
Now have to see that structure. The $34m is a marketing amount. Give us the real money.

Sounds speculative to me. Notice how no sources are given.
Personally, I have my doubts in the above opinion. I think the team caved. There's no way they want to give any player that much guaranteed money. While the APY is a small jump from Donald, the guaranteed $ is a much larger gap. It really doesn't matter, but I doubt Schefter knows. It's been a tight sealed negotiation. I don't see either party really spilling the beans. It does no one any good to do so.

Idc if it's true or not, it's a cool story though. If it is true, that's pretty cool. I'm happy either way - bosa got payed and the team gets him for 6 more years. It's awesome. Going to be a really fun run
