Awesome that it's now official.

Good thing no one in here was freaking out or saying we should trade him or that he wasn't going to play this season. That would've been silly.

I can't believe the fans who wanted to trade Bosa, or the ones who bought into the Reddit post, Twitter did, or X, whatever you call it, teams fans thinking they were getting Nick, from Raiders fans thinking the Jimmy G restructure was to get Nick when they were over the cap, or Bears fans all offseason talking like they were getting him as a FA next year, like we wouldn't tag him.

Twitter was mostly Jets fans convinced he was heading over there.
the poser "fans" that wanted to trade Bo$a are just new cowgirl fans still bitter about how ShannaLynch took care of biz this year
What's the over and under on how many times they restructure this contract in the next 5 seasons.
Looks like the entirety of Bosa's peak years are now controlled by the 49ers....good deal

5 years under contract and a worst case scenario 3 more years with the Franchise Tag

Need to see the details first. They made some unexpected moves - they may of front loaded it when we thought they were going to make the first two years low payments.

between the $50M signing bonus (can be spread out throughout the lifetime of the contract) and restructuring kittle & Williams, it'll be very interesting.

kittle said he didn't get his money as a signing bonus, just did the team a solid. Which is interesting, makes me think bosa is making more this year than we anticipated

Not sure why Kittle said that, the 49ers cap room went from $8M to $31M on NFLPA.com yesterday to today, those include the restructures, so unless he took a pay cut, he got a signing bonus.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I remember that Reddit user predicting the CMC trade in real time but in hindsight it was just a hilarious lucky educated case where he got all the miscellaneous details wrong anyway.

I kept getting flashbacks to the Raiders trading Mack in 2018 just a week before the regular season. Fortunately that didn't happen to us too.

But yeah, anyone who said they wanted to trade Bosa sounded exactly like this to me:

Yeah, very strange comment by him. Maybe he was just messing with the media? I can see him doing that just for a laugh.

AB, what do you think happened regarding Bosa's first two years and why we cleared so much cap space?

Didn't do Dallas any favors with their Micah Parsons negotiations coming up. With Dak on the books and Lamb coming up, there gonna feel the squeeze.

Yup! Dallas has to figure out how to pay Micah & Dak, Dak cost $60M next year on the cap. lol they've been paying a lot of guys too. big benefit dallas has is that their owner has no issue doling out massive signing bonuses, like we did.

I hope it messes up their cap but they may be entertaining using Lance on the cheap to keep their roster strong around him, similar to what we did. have a cheap QB surrounded by awesome talent. I just don't think they realize how bad lance currently is. lol

Every new biggest ever contract messes it up for the future. Justin Herbert's biggest ever contract lasted all of one month or so. It was just 5 years ago when JG was the highest paid QB at $27.5 million per year. Now we have defensive players making more. Burrow's new contracy is nearly double what JG was making. Nearly double in just 5 years. Are we going to see $100 million per year in 5 more years?

Not just Parsons and Dak but they have to pay Lamb also. Lamb, Aiyuk, and Jefferson are all going to get paid next year.

Yeah, It's wild how fast the QB contracts are going up because its def outpacing the salary cap rise. People keep talking about it going up but every position except RB is also going up. so when you look at the fact that QB salary has doubled in just five years, it's going to be interesting how it looks going forward.

there are tons of variables though, how it's structured, when the payouts happen, signing bonuses, etc. I'm sure teams know what theyre doing but at the end of the day - you need an elite QB to be able to compete every year. so it just is what it is.

Let's hope brock becomes an elite QB and we get him for cheap these next 3 seasons, and then once he gets paid - we can continue to keep good talent around him and draft well. an elite QB can mask a lot of issues with a team, just like brady did for the pats for over a decade.
