That being said, 49ers probably shouldn't have paid him, his brother is known as a contract year player and it appears Nick is the same.

Yeah, I can.

He was paid to be an all-pro and no longer is.

I would trade him in the off-season if the team is going to continue to de-emphasize running the ball and stopping the run.

No use for a pass rusher when you are constantly behind in games.

Yeah the defense looked much better without him out there. SMH

The defense hasn't looked good with him either.

It's all about return on investment. Do you think the organization is getting a positive ROI from Bosa since he signed his new deal? I don't.

His pressure rate remains near the top of the league. Given the fact he is generally double-teamed, he is doing just fine. Remember, he played the last two games with a painful injury.

He has lamented the fact he has not gotten as many sacks but that is not all there is to it. TFL numbers have also been good.

Jesus. No one is saying Bosa isn't a good player.

The question is if his play is at the level it was in 2019 and 2022 that matches up to his high-end salary.

Answer seems like yes to me

You guys are easy to please I guess.

Bosa was given the most guaranteed money ever for a defensive player in NFL history off a tremendous 2022 where he had 18.5 sacks, won DPOY was 1st team All-Pro and finished 6th in MVP voting.

Since, he has 17.5 sacks in 27 GP and baring a major turnaround this year will have not made either 1st or 2nd team All-Pro in any year since his new contract.

That's good return on investment to you?

He's a top-5 edge defender and is one of the best in the league against both run and pass at a premium position. His pressures have been there this season but sacks are down, but I would say that has more to do with the rest of the line and the DBs than Bosa.

Well, top 5 edge rusher would put him into the 1st or 2nd team All-Pro category each season. He wasn't last year and likely won't this year. So is he really top 5?

Did you consider Dak Prescott a better QB than Mahomes and Allen last year? Using All-Pros to determine a players worth is a horrible metric.

I do think that solely using that as a barometer isn't good. But you're only filling one QB spot per team versus 2 edge players per team. So there's more opportunity for Bosa to make one of those teams.

And Dak did have a great year last year and was a top 5 player at the position although I would never put him about Mahomes or Allen in totality.

But this is TWO years now where Bosa has not been at the top of his position.

There's 32 starting QBs. 64 starting edge rushers. Math
