Lol TJ Watt has 1 sack in 5 playoff losses. People need to stop bringing that dude up in here to try to knock Nick. You don't want me to pull up Nick's playoff numbers, trust.

Maybe it's that wide 9 BS, poor D coordinator/scheme, no help, etc He still needs to show up. He kind of fades with the rest of the team when things are going bad
Who in the history of the game was a consistent 20 sack per year guy? Prime JJ Watt didn't do that. Neither did Reggie White, Bruce Taylor, or LT. I saw an interesting stat. TJ Watt has 1 sack in 5 playoff appearances. Bosa had 6.5 in his first 5. Two in his last 5.
With that said, I do agree Bosa has had two underwhelming seasons based on his contract. He's paid for 2021-2022 production. We've gotten production that would be a acceptable for a top 10-15 guy, not a top 3-5 guy.

I just did lol. Nick's first five I remember it- a sight to behold. Nick was just a different player under Saleh/Ryan's. Its not as simple as him getting paid.

He was next to Buck, AA, Ford, Givens, Ebukam and a few other quality linemen. Our current Dline is trash so teams focus on Bosa.
Trading Buckner was completely retarded. I truly believe if they stayed together and created a rapport we'd have a ring.
Also, TJ Watt is a superior run defender. You always see Bosa break contain or chase a ghost. I'd take Watt over Bosa for that reason.

Watt is probably the best run defender in football at DE. Bosa is top 10 there. Both are elite level players. We need to get him some legit help across the DL.

It was a gamble. They figured the sum of the players they kept was greater than what Buckner offered. I think it worked- even with the massive failure of a pick Kinlaw was. What exposed them was DJ Jones leaving, AA's PF injuries, signing Hargrave and expecting him to be a run defender, and Kalia Davis never being healthy (and even then he's still a pass rush guy not a run defender).
Bringing in a legit run defender to replace Jones along with using Hargrave correctly and they could've gotten by. Unfortunately we have elite pass rusher and run defender (Bosa), an above average to average pass rusher in Floyd and Hargrave, then average pass rushers to below average in everyone else, and no run guys.
With a D line like that, we need the Greatest Show on Turf type of offense that can jump on teams 21 - 0. Otherwise, we are doomed to be run on if the game is close or we are behind.

Why gamble? It's incredibly hard to find a pass rushing 3 down DT who is durable and can play the run. Should have kept Buck and dumped AA and whoever else to make it work.
