Man I really thought we had a consistent 20+ sack per year guy. I still think he can get back to form next year, but yea I agree with Baldy. Maybe it's that wide 9 BS, poor D coordinator/scheme, no help, etc He still needs to show up. He kind of fades with the rest of the team when things are going bad
Who in the history of the game was a consistent 20 sack per year guy? Prime JJ Watt didn't do that. Neither did Reggie White, Bruce Taylor, or LT. I saw an interesting stat. TJ Watt has 1 sack in 5 playoff appearances. Bosa had 6.5 in his first 5. Two in his last 5.
With that said, I do agree Bosa has had two underwhelming seasons based on his contract. He's paid for 2021-2022 production. We've gotten production that would be a acceptable for a top 10-15 guy, not a top 3-5 guy.
He's literally the highest paid DLineman in the NFL today and that's why his current production is not acceptable. Not expecting 20 sacks in a season but he's got to at least hit double digits year in year out with the money we're shelling out and with his impact on the Salary Cap preventing us from signing other F/A"s.. Expectancy is to match a Miles Garrett season to season and not be overpaid and produce less than a top 3 guy like Garrett has been his entire career.
I said he's had two underwhelming seasons based on his contract. 2025 will reveal a lot because dude was a monster, in the regular season and playoffs for 4 years. We'll see what he does. Hopefully the get the DC pick right and get some IDL. If they do both, Bosa will have no excuse.
