Maybe it's that wide 9 BS, poor D coordinator/scheme, no help, etc He still needs to show up. He kind of fades with the rest of the team when things are going bad

There's like three or four players in
NFL history that have had multiple 20+ sack seasons.

Both great players, but Fred is a better LB than Nick is an end.

Fans don't truly grasp or appreciate how good Fred is. Dude is f**king incredible at anticipating and eliminating route combos, carrying wide receivers and overall just eliminating the middle of the field. Fred is a first-ballot HOFer. Then you factor in the leadership, character, work ethic, and you've got culmination of a player that every GM dreams of drafting.

All facts Hero. I don't blame the average fan though; a lot of what he's doing on a down by down basis is not seen on the broadcast. When you watch the All-22, it's a thing of beauty when as you said, he eliminates the middle of the field. His presence alone, you can see QBs hesitate on testing him, and I don't blame them.

What he's doing in coverage; I honestly can't say that I have ever seen a Mike do, year in year out down in down out. That said; I also can't say that I watch every LB on every team over the years on the All-22, I obviously only watch our Niners.

A Fred v Nick debate is futile.

They are both great players.

We need more great players.

Not to argue who is better.
Fans feel that the Niners need to get a good edge rusher opposite Bosa and there's no question that would help. The problem is it's hard to find a good one that isn't going to cost a fortune. The best bet is trying to find one in the draft and they go early. If they have a choice between a good ege rusher, run stuffing tackle or an O lineman then they have a hard choice to make. They need all 3 positions

Id argue that Floyd and YGM are good enough. Better run D, better defensive play calling, and an offense that can keep up the scoring is what we need. Asking for more than that isn't realistic, nor sustainable over time (because of the cap). The 2019 line was out of this world. They went through Olines like a grater going through cheese play after play. It was a thing of beauty. But expecting that out of your Dline year after year is like expecting 1989 Joe Montana play out if your QB.
We do need help with the D line.

And the O line.

And the unemployment line.
Why can't the thread get political when he's literally being political on the field...

Because there's a political thread in the other forums and you can take that stuff there. Lets keep this mainly sports, thanks!

Yeah but asking fans to keep it separate when the dude himself can't even keep it off the field while being paid millions of dollars and not living up to his contract seems a bit ironic.

Unless your the best imo keep your side interests to the side and work on being the best. If your better than everyone else than you can bring some attention to whatever your into. And bosa ain't no TJ Watt...

How is it Ironic, Bosa never said keep it separated in here, the fans/posters are asking for it. I feel that you are trying to make it political because you are against his stance lol... trying to disguise it as something else

You can go at him all you want about being paid millions of dollars and not living up to his contract because I agree with you there at certain things.

I thought JJ Watt was the only multiple times?

I agree with you. Edge rushers seem much harder to predict than offensive lineman (at least early in the draft) but when you have one they are gold. If you think you've got a 10+ sack per year edge rusher and a good offensive lineman at 11, you take the edge rusher. I would add that the 49ers need another disruptive force on the defensive line, edge rusher or defensive tackle. We've really missed Hargrave and even more missed Armstead.

Sure. Trade Bosa and his bloated salary and get some motive hungry players. Could probably get 3 very good DL for the price of Bosa.

Why would you trade the only elite player on the DL? Bosa by just about every metric was still one of the best edge rushers in football. He's still producing pressure, the talent around him has just declined substantially.

They went from Bosa, Buckner, Armstead, DJ Jones, Dee Ford to....

He just isnt motivated anymore. He is a ghost on regular basis and isnt clutch. Give me a young, hungry, talented DL over Bosa all day long.
Nick is still the best DE in the NFL when fully fit.

For his draft position, salary, past results, he's "in his prime,".....I don't think 20 sacks is unobtainable for Bosa. He's generational right? For someone like him 20 sacks should be his goal. Is it a lot? Hellz yea but that's the standard I hold him to and he can do it. He almost got there his DPOY year. He should be better now
