As someone who has had dozens of ankle sprains as a soccer player, he doesn't look very close. Not rotating that ankle at all, being very cautious. Probably a couple weeks away from anything.

You can't diagnose anything from this video. Nor can you compare your own situation to an elite professional athlete with the best doctors and treatments in the world at his disposal.

This is similar to those "As a pee wee/high school football coach...." posts hahaha

Injuries are the same as playing the sport? Better doctors don't magically heal an ankle sprain lol

Comparing an injury isn't exact because every sprain and person is different but not rotating the ankle is the easiest sign to see that someone isn't that close. Once you can rotate it you can start the rehab and rebuilding the strength which is necessary because with every sprain another is that much easier (especially true for ankles).

Yes, you can see how he isn't rotating the ankle.

But, given the 49ers' injured list history, one of the following must be true:
- Not all 49ers are elite or pro
- 49ers don't have the best doctors
- Even the best doctors have a hard time dealing with NFL injuries
He'll be fine.

16 sacks or more for the season. Book it.

Doesn't look like he'll be ready for week 1 based on that video. I still think his debut will be week 5 after the bye.
I wouldnt rule him out for week 1 just yet. Still has 21 days
Uhhh that doesn't look good

Throw a little dirt on it, tape it up really tight, send him in on third downs, and man up.

There was a simple rule in the NFL. You don't practice, you don't play. Given his rookie status I would assume it applies here. Watch the practice reports and you will get an Idea. Walking around looking tough doesn't mean squat.
