Glad you can give a final grade on our 2019 draft. How did you find out Josh Allen would be healthy his entire career, and why didn't you tell the 49ers that before the draft?

They don't SUCK at drafting but they are far from good at drafting.

Hmm....but they didn't mention that amputation is off the table so he may still lose that leg :(

Drafting is half scouting and half luck. Nobody has a crystal ball that can predict how a college player will be when he gets some money and has to work to keep his job. Nobody knows if a previously uninjured player will keep getting hurt in the NFL like Ward. In college, these guys are virtually guaranteed a job because of the scholarship. If they get hurt, they redshirt (sometimes). In the NFL they have to fight every day and some guys just aren't up to it. All the drills at the combine can't tell you if the player has that kind of drive. If you looked at the history of the NFL over the last 15-20 years, every team probably has more guys that didn't make it than guys that did. The Niners seem have drafted a lot of injured players but I don't know how many other teams have done the same.

That's good news, but until he actually returns to practice without restriction, the talk is mostly meaningless. There is absolutely no benefit for us to tell Tampa Bay that he's out for the game until we have to. It's good news in the sense that it doesn't sound like he's had any setbacks, but I won't believe he's actually going to play until he's back at practice.

Lynch on KNBR this morning (paraphrasing).
"On these high ankle sprains you just can't have those kind of set backs...and he hasn't."
"Can't say he will be probable/questionable for week 1, but things look encouraging."
