I wonder if there will be a stat correction giving Bosa either a half or a full sack taking some credit away from AA
Brought the heat today. Good show.

He's gonna be a good one.

He has such a great bend and if he wasn't injured, he would of had probably 1-2 more sacks IMO.

hey thl, we talked about this yesterday.

Before the game, we talked about how Bosa would take advantage of oversetting tackles vs the wide 9 with his signature counter club inside move. f**k, I wanted him to finish this one!! The way the feet, hands, and hips are married together is poetry in motion.

Hero, what do you think about Bosa at 9t? Does that help or hinder him? I made a post about this on the previous page. Wanted your thoughts.
I don't think it helps or hinders him much. I've seen him get a sack or two from a wide split in college. A tighter split would probably be best for Nick so he could hand fight in a phone booth, but his footwork is(turn hips with inside foot, gain depth with outside foot) is impeccable. As long as he's consistently getting a good jump, he should be fine.

I think the biggest advantage he could gain comes in how it affects the tackle. Bosa's favorite counter is an inside club-swim. Tackle's oversetting against the wide 9 become super susceptible to this counter.
Considering I've seen us run only one side of the line in the w9 I'd suspect they'd give Bosa the freedom to do what he's best at, not shoehorn him into having to play w9 if he's more comfortable getting in close. That's what it sounded like in the interviews at the start of training camp. He liked being in close because he's so good at the handfighting.
Yeah guys, the bolded is what I was referring to. If I had to classify his style, I'd say he's a power/technique rusher, not speed. He doesn't need to be in a 9t to generate speed/power. He is powerful enough to not need the added distance that a 9t is provided.
Didn't think about how an OT facing a 9t has a deeper set which can open up the inside rush that Bosa has shown to win with. Can't wait to see this guy - the fruits of our crappy 2018 season.

In both sacks, the DT playing beside him is doubled. That usually would mean Buckner. As Buckner and Bosa play together and get more reps, they'll get more instinctive and add more stunts and dogs and they will get better in the pass rush department. Buckner might have less sacks than last year, but Bosa has a good chance to get defensive rookie of the year because of Buckner.

Not just Bosa, but Arik will benefit from Buckner. As long as the two niners take advantage of it on pass situations it is a good thing. That means one on one for Ford, Bosa, and Arik. Just need to stay focus and not get excited when they close in on the QB and get juked like Bosa did on a potential sack of Winston. Guys like Kyler and Wilson can make you pay if you let them escape.

Add a blitzing DB or LB from time to time. Even a faint to cause a gap.

Can he make 8 games healthy? We will see. You have to let this play out. But yes he had a good game and for those that loved the pick a lot you had your day. Can he continue and can he stay healthy? We will see about that.

Everybody gets hurt. Look at last years rookie mvp. Injured in first game this year. Sometimes there are times you can't control, like when someone falls on your leg or rolls up on your ankle when you are not looking. Not like Ward who dives and hurts his collarbone when landing or puts his out and breaks it.

I agree that it remains to be seen whether he can stay healthy and that's something that will only be answered in time. But when he plays well, it's good for all of us, because it helps the team win.

I remember when we got a guy named Gore who had two blown knees. Turns out to be a beast and never really had a Ward complex. You can't tell who will be riddled with injuries and who will be there healthy.
