That "almost sack" sealed the game with the spoon INT.

The dude generated pressure pretty much ever play. He and Ford are awesome!!!

i know there was a lot of Bosa lovers and Bosa not so much lovers going into the draft and while im not going to sit here and act like the dude is going to the next Justin Smith, he still has a lot to prove, mostly staying healthy, but a big hats off to the Bosa guys. after seeing the replays, he played a very good gsme. his lateral movement wasnt the best, im sure his injury has a lot to do with that, but he certainly showed he has all star ability and potential. he's definitely what we needed. To all of you who said he was the guy you guys were absolutely right!!!

Lol if people can't see what Ford and Bosa did for our D, I don't know what else to say. The difference between yesterday and any game last year (excluding the raiders) was night and day.

Aldon helped make Fangio look good. Bosa is going to do the same thing with Salah.

Do you have a list of great D Coordinators that didn't have elite pass rushers?

Seifert comes to mind in the '94 super bowl. He had Deion and a couple of has-been pass rushers. But early in his career, he had Fred Dean and Charles Haley in their prime.

In his defense, BY was getting rocked early in his career. He was manhandled early on. I clearly remember the announcers having their "welcome to the NFL" spiel a few times at BY's expense.

His point is fair too.... we were talking about elite pass rushers, Stubby was an elite pass rushing DT by the end of 1994 and going into 1995, but Charles Mann and Ricky Jackson were aged and slowing down. A lot of games that season came down to can we get 20 good snaps out of a guy.

As i posted earlier, only Tim Harris was a truly elite pass rusher...and he came back to the team in week 15.

His point is valid enough... 4 guys with a combined 26 pro-bowls will make pass rush by rotation work.

This could also be an example of being over anxious trying to get that first NFL sack. Too much adrenaline does funny things to a body.

That's my pet peeve with Seifert. I don't think he was able to draft edge rushers, and I don't think he really valued it the way Walsh valued edge rushers. He drafted Ted Washignton, Stubby and BY, but he never could get that edge rusher that was elite. I've always wondered why, given his experience with Fred Dean and Charles Haley.
You know he played well when the only negative thing people can come up with is... "Well let's see if he can stay healthy".

No s**t. That applies to literally every player in the NFL. The difference, no one makes it an issue until they actually start missing games. So why don't we take a moment and just appreciate that our first rounder actually looks like a legit first rounder (no offense to mcglinchey).

we loved his tweerers in that hybrid 3-4. Oddly Peirce Holt went on to be really good, but i cant recall anyone else.

The 49ers had an o-line gimmick and a d-line gimmick.

Everyone wanted 300 pounds on both sides of the ball.

My memory could be wrong on this....but wasn't guys like Supulo only 260 pounds? It was something like that. That's linebacker size now. Hell there might be FBs pushing that weight these days. I know BY weighed in at 285 and i think Stubby was 290.

Boners for Bosa, more excited about Nick than I was for Aldon

Aldon didn't get a sack until his fourth game. Started raining down after that though.

Don't bother responding to that dude.

This. I mean it was pretty well known that he was the best player in the draft (maybe 1a and 1b with Quinnen) and played at our weakest position.

Him looking great should not have been a surprise to anyone that has ever seen him play.

Do you make this same argument in the Jimmie Ward thread?

There's 6 yrs worth of multiple broken bones and soft tissue injuries...yeah totally the same lol.

Ward played all 4 yrs in college, so by your standard he shouldn't have had injury problems coming into the league. Thanks for a perfect example of players can get hurt even if they didn't have issues in college

Dont think I've ever read even SUGGESTIONS here that we should only concentrate on 4 yr players from college that have never been injured, because they will probably be fine in the Pros too.

That is a completely made up reversal of what's been said, and nonsensical, to say the least.
