I don't blame them. He's an average offensive linemen but with how bad o linemen are you gotta hold on to and overpay the average players
yup

Armstead was pushing the pocket a lot. That put Bosa in one-on-one more than he would have been had AA not been doing what he did.
That having been said, when Bosa's ankle fully heals, and he learns to stay under control of bit more once he beats the OT, LOOK OUT QBs.

I heard PFF gave my son 2 sacks for the game. Maybe PFF isn't so bad after all.

"I think if you look at the overall passing game, the statistic that stands out the most in terms of correlation is pressure. So pressure on the quarterback leads to more bad plays than sacks do, in terms of turnovers unless you have strip sacks, obviously. That's the No. 1. After that, pressures cause bad throws and potentially turnovers."
Belichick noted that the pass rush comes down to team defense, tethering the production of the pass rush to the quality of coverage and vice versa. But his note about focusing on strip sacks and pressure while devaluing sacks is a unique insight. Sacks make players money, but they may not be tied to winning football games. Winning the turnover differential is an enormous part of winning football games. The Los Angeles Rams (+11), New Orleans Saints (+8), Chicago Bears (+14) are in the top five in turnover differential. The Patriots are in the top 10 at +5, a number which is improving as Tom Brady hasn't thrown an interception since Week 7.
So if pressures are tied to turnovers and turnovers are tied to wins, then Belichick's emphasis on pressures follow his cliche: "We do what's best for the team to win games."
I think he has to say that because drafting dead last or close to dead last precludes him from drafting the Bosa's, Chubbs, and Garrets of the NFL. Elite players that generate sacks as well as pressures.
Having said that, any sort of disruption of the QBs timing with the reciever, via pressure, sack, bump and run, or disguised coverage is a good thing for the defense.
And he's definitely right that pass defense is comprised of a good pass rush and a good coverage against the recievers. But what sets Bellicheat apart from other coaches is how smart his players are. And how he disguises his coverages, and how he shuts down your teams best money plays. From an offensive standpoint I think he and Kyle are on par, but from a defensive standpoint - Belicheat is heads and shoulders above most, if not all, of the NFL.

Yeah, he's going to be a terror when he get's fully healthy. Can't wait - but, it's still fun watching now, though.

Bosa, robbed.
PFF gave that sack to Bosa...I know how much you hate PFF

i guess his belly rub tricked the stat keepers.
(Shockingly) Didn't fool pff. I was at the game and the announcer even said brought down by Bosa. NFL being tough on the rookie. If that were Watt that's his sack all day.

Bosa got better as the game went on. Seemed like the rust fell off and he was playing more freely towards the end. Plus knowing the opponent is passing makes his job easier.

I really noticed the play were he pulled Winston down by his LEG from the ground. This dude is incredibly strong.
I think we've got a quicker version of Justin Smith.

Cowboy was much bigger, Nick is a different kind of player.
