Having said that, any sort of disruption of the QBs timing with the reciever, via pressure, sack, bump and run, or disguised coverage is a good thing for the defense.

And he's definitely right that pass defense is comprised of a good pass rush and a good coverage against the recievers. But what sets Bellicheat apart from other coaches is how smart his players are. And how he disguises his coverages, and how he shuts down your teams best money plays. From an offensive standpoint I think he and Kyle are on par, but from a defensive standpoint - Belicheat is heads and shoulders above most, if not all, of the NFL.

lol if there's one thing we know about Bill Belichick is that if he doesn't want to say something...he doesn't have to.

IDK how bosa wasn't given credit for the AA sack. AA flew right over Winston's back while Bosa had his legs secured to take him down.

Bosa, robbed.

Should've been a split at worst IMO. Very odd. Only thing I can think of is they called "in the grasp" but clearly he was NOT.

Nice catch that's why they call you the genius we will have 2 edge rushers with over 10 sacks. Close to best in the league with Denver. Now if Buckner gets 10 plus....wow. Playoffs are easily in reach. Hope we stay somewhat healthy
Why is Bosa only being credited for 1 sack but everyone says he had 2?

Bosa got better as the game went on. Seemed like the rust fell off and he was playing more freely towards the end. Plus knowing the opponent is passing makes his job easier.

I really noticed the play were he pulled Winston down by his LEG from the ground. This dude is incredibly strong.

I think we've got a quicker version of Justin Smith.

Cowboy was much bigger, Nick is a different kind of player.

Cowboy came in, actually smaller (but back then DTs were smaller) and got bigger through a decade of living in the weight room.

Cowboy came in "country strong" but Bosa seems to have that too.

Nick had 3 more reps at the combine

I hereby declare him Nick Bostineau. Now he just needs a pornstache, a mullet, and change his number to #99, although drop the latter due to Aldon and that number is now cursed. #97 was BY's number so that is safe.

Not at the start of his career. He came in as a 265 pound DE in a 4-3.
re-watching the "highlights"....jesus it looks worse on replay then it did live. Its sheer chaos every snap.

The line looked good live...... the line looks GREAT on the highlight reel. Snap after Snap its utter chaos for the buc's o-line.

The snaps that have Ford AND Bosa rushing the QB are nuts.

I was really happy Sunday, but I don't think I was giving them enough credit in the moment. I have been singing the praises every hour on the hour since that game, and now in hindsight....I think they are even better together then I thought.
When do stat corrections typically happen? Maybe they'll give Bosa an extra half sack?

Wednesday. I know because i was booted from my FF championship last year on a stat correction. I hate Zeke even more for that lol.

if you guys are like that lol then I wouldn't reward bosa with his first sack since Dee ford basically made winston run into him. That was like a Solly thomas or AA sack then.

Lol what? He sacked Winston on the play where he was credited with a sack and he made contact with Winston to bring him down on the play Armstead was given the sack. It's not rocket science, it's a definition.

@ 10:06

Armstead clearly gets him first, bosa just jumps on his feet. Its not rocket science its clear evidence why they credited armstead. You can even tell that Bosa knew it was armstead that caused that sack when he went to congrats him while armstead doing his belly rub.
There are two types of pressures, one where you make the QB throw the ball away or quicker than he wants to and one that flushed him from the pocket. If everyone stays disciplined and keeps the QB in the pocket, that's good. If you lose containment to athletic QBs that can throw decently, that usually causes problems.

As long as the player doesn't get to too excited and remains balanced when the QB is in the crosshairs and has a clear path its a win, but sometimes the excitement ends up with the DL or other to get juked. Bosa had a least one of those. I know I am being picking, just want Bosa to go thru the roof.

This was going to be a strength of the team and they did not disappoint. They can only get better playing more and more together. AA looked decent at times along with his usual flubs.

Interesting point. Do you team up Bosa and Dee Ford on the same side? A la Justin Smith and Aldon Smith?

But yeah, he's going to be a great player for us for a long time. Key now is to sign Buckner so that you build a defense around Bosa to keep the double teams off him so he can have a long and illustrious career like Haley and Dean.
