Nick Bosa in the #49ers' win over the Browns, per @PFF:
-9 total pressures
-2 sacks
-3 QB hits
-4 QB hurries
-2 total tackles
-3 stops
-1 forced fumble
-Elite overall grade of 92.3
-Best pass-rush performance for a rookie since the creation of Pro Football Focus

I don't understand how PFF only gave Bosa 3 sacks when he clearly had a 3rd one taken away from him by the refs on the play before the flag celebration.

Knees were clearly down. #3 sack.

Can't give somebody a sack that isn't credited with the NFL. It is an official stat afterall -- unlike several other PFF collected stats.

Not sure that Bosa can get official credit for that because a penalty was called, accepted and it effectively ended the quarter. Maybe the NFL can change it to a sack in that scenario. But it wasn't just a clean sequence to work with from a stat correction standpoint. Does the NFL wipe away the penalty yards and loss of down from the intentional grounding?

If he's down the penalty is moot. Can't ground the ball if you are down.

Right. I'm not talking about what SHOULD have been called. I'm talking about the NFL's ability to correct the stat given the sequence of events. We will see if they can.
