That is unknown. We'll know more tomorrow. For now, all we know is that it's very likely an ACL tear.
Anybody know if it's the same knee he tore up in college
Might not ever be the same. SMDH

I'm not going that far, losing Bosa isn't going to make or break the season for us. The next 3 games are very winnable games IMO, even without Jimmy at QB. It's not the end of the world, or season for us, we'll still be competitive, and can make a deep run IMO.

Ahhh I'm not gonna say we can't win the SB but without question it can make or break the season. He's our best player on defense and plays one of the most important positions on the team.

Our defense is based around rushing the pass rusher...this is just about as big a loss as we can have.

If the DL can get by without anymore significant injuries and if Dee Ford can come back an be effective, there's help outside the organization and we're still getting make Blair and Taylor midsession to have a good DL. There's no replacing Bosa but still could have a DL that is very deep if we can finally escape the injury bug.
At this point, I'm hoping he is ready to go next year.

Normal recovery time is 9ish months, right?

He tore one in high school, too - he'll be alright.

We just went from hoping we can get back to the Superbowl to hoping the team is watchable for the remainder of the season.

Yup. Zero chance of winning a Superbowl without Bosa. Zero. Dude was finally 100% and in the best shape ever. Done 1.5 games into the season. f**k!

I don't know how you're coming to this conclusion but Bosa gone for year coupled with the billion other long-term injuries we have and you think none of this is make or break?

Bosa alone puts them out of super bowl convo. What were they before Bosa? Saleh needs that kinda pass rush in order to be effective. Without that, this defense will get eaten alive by good offenses. Hell, it already did by the chiefs and cardinals the last two games at practically full strength.

I like the optimism but if we're being honest, just making the playoffs seems like a really big challenge.

I do agree with AB. Bosa is a huge loss. But the team has depth and even without Bosa the defense is stout. More important than ever is that Ford returns strong. If he does, the 9ers will be good. Hyder is showing up and Armstead was a beast today. If the Niners ever were true SuperBowl contenders, this one big setback is not fatal. But the team cannot afford to lose either Ford or Armstead now.
I actually feel like the interior DL is better than last year also.

This is one guy you don't have to worry about coming back strong.
