Let's not forget about the development of Kinlaw. For being quite raw, the guy is making his presence felt already. If he continues, it will require teams to pay more attention to the inside pass rush which will make it easier for those on the outside.

I'm guessing his MRI is tomorrow. Once it's official, bye bye 2020 49er season.
I'm not being pessimistic; I'm being realistic.

There are knee tests that you can do and you pretty much know with super high accuracy. Remember when I tore my knee, they did a test on the field, that hoe was all kinds of slippery and loose. did MRI to see extent and what not of the injury but it was known when it happened.

Hopefully he can be same player after.

Probably both in my case. I'm thinking if we go 8-8 or worse, at least the 2021 draft will look a lot better. Its tough to replace a talent like Bosa. Hes a first pick first round kind of player. I look forward to our defense being mediocre from here on in.

I am still all pissed off that our season went up in flames like this you can't replicate what bosa does for the defense period this day sucks. Bosa and the pass rush made our DB look good not the other way around we saw 2018 how our secondary played.

This. My doctor did one test on my knee and knew it was torn. They generally know right away. The MRI is just confirmation and tells you if anything else in there is messed up.

Yup. Zero chance of winning a Superbowl without Bosa. Zero. Dude was finally 100% and in the best shape ever. Done 1.5 games into the season. f**k!
I'm not going that far, losing Bosa isn't going to make or break the season for us. The next 3 games are very winnable games IMO, even without Jimmy at QB. It's not the end of the world, or season for us, we'll still be competitive, and can make a deep run IMO.
I don't know how you're coming to this conclusion but Bosa gone for year coupled with the billion other long-term injuries we have and you think none of this is make or break?
Bosa alone puts them out of super bowl convo. What were they before Bosa? Saleh needs that kinda pass rush in order to be effective. Without that, this defense will get eaten alive by good offenses. Hell, it already did by the chiefs and cardinals the last two games at practically full strength.
I like the optimism but if we're being honest, just making the playoffs seems like a really big challenge.
I do agree with AB. Bosa is a huge loss. But the team has depth and even without Bosa the defense is stout. More important than ever is that Ford returns strong. If he does, the 9ers will be good. Hyder is showing up and Armstead was a beast today. If the Niners ever were true SuperBowl contenders, this one big setback is not fatal. But the team cannot afford to lose either Ford or Armstead now.
I actually feel like the interior DL is better than last year also.
this means, he's basically useless for 2 years... he wont be as great as he is in year 1..

Players are never the same after major injuries. That said, some still play at very high levels and Bosa is an example given he tore his other ACL in high school and was incredibly good in college and the pros.
Let's just hope all he has is an ACL tear and nothing more. Nerve damage is probably the worst and almost unrecoverable (Rueben Foster). Tearing all the tendons in the knee is also hard to come back from (Marcus Lattimore).

Just for reference AP tore his ACL and MCL in December of 2011 at the age of 26, led the NFL in rushing in 2012 with 2097 yds. Thats about 8-9 months of recovery at the most physically demanding position in the NFL and a RB who never avoids contact.

I swear every time I log in to the webzone we have another man down.
I feel the same way as I did when Bowman went down with an acl.
Losing Bosa stings and will be hard to overcome but our season is not over.

Man this dude is my favorite player to watch. Such a bummer he's done for the year.
Don't want to be a downer but I don't see how the Niners compete for a Super Bowl this year without him. They can still be a good team....just don't see them giving the top teams problems without that fierce pass rush that Bosa provides.

Then there's Frank Gore.....I mean I understand it really sucks and is easy to overreact, but damn Bosa could very well come back just fine too.
