agree on getting some protection for Jimmy, but what we lost yesterday was our franchise edge rusher. Dont know if we'll ever get him back 100%. Hope the MRI has some good news on a rather weekend (despite the win) if you ask me.

This injury situation is beyond ridiculously insane.

ACL isn't the end of the world...he's already dealt with it and looked more than fine in college/last yr.

If we get another opportunity to get a high that expected pick because of injuries, we'd be throwing that away by drafting a IOL if Jimmy G doesn't bring it up another level I'm looking at QBs

Agreed. Med technology is always improving. It's not 1985 and he's not 32 years old. Should be fine. Whether he's got AP's 9 month recovery abilities remains to be seen, but that may be too optimistic.

He's a workout warrior and he's gone through it once before - I'd expect him back sooner rather than later.

They're bringing in Ansah. It's unfortunate that it took Bosa getting hurt to sign this dude. SMH.

they could do worse. no one can fill nicks shoes.. you just need someone more than respectable.. i i assume they will find another guy to replace thomas.. to find someone on his level or even a bit above should not be hard at all. and yes. the team may have to get creative with the money cuz they are in no position to quibble

I get it. My point was that this team should have signed this dude much earlier instead of p***y footing around.

So far that K-Mart strategy isn't working though.

Tomlinson and McGlinchey still can't pass protect, Brunskill and any C are playing like ass...

It's two weeks man....also who you drafting if they end up drafting top 10 to play IOL?? Name me some prospects worth that type of draft capital? I'll tell ya NO ONE.

SF just put 31 points up with a JV team.

Guys I was just kidding about the sacrificial knee thing.

It's a scenario worth talking a out, if SF somehow ended up with a top 10 pick because of a Bosa torn ACL and overall just too many injuries to overcome....it would be a kick in the dick to waste that pick on a IOL

If anything they should look at QBs.

Pass protection is always worth talking about esp. if you don't want your FQB to be reduced to Blaine Gabbert or Andrew Luck.

But to NY's point, if there isn't a high quality one around 15, don't reach for need either.

But this extends far beyond debating about taking an IOL. We might actually need much more than that. This OL is playing like trash right now.
Houston got any good edge rushers? Maybe BOB would take Tevin Coleman for them?
At this point I'm just hoping he's ready for week 1 next season

Didn't Jerry Rice come back after like 4 months post ACL surgery? lol

Something like that. 14 weeks.

edit: and then cracked the patella in that knee on his next touchdown catch.

What really sucks, if it is an ACL, a lot of guys never get back to the same performance. There are freaks out there, see Gore, so maybe Bosa would be ok.

JJ Watt has been a locker room problem calling out their rookie for being an idiot. How dare he

10 years ago that was the case but most guys make a full recovery from ACL's. Plus he's already ripped his ACL in college

I'd be curious to what Hero has to say about his sons chances of regaining his form. I'm optimistic since Bosa has always been more of a tactician than relying on sheer speed.

With ya there, the only positive is that if it was gonna happen it happened early. But still a giant blow to the hopes of making a run. And then next week on the same field right? Possible half the team will be signed off the street at this rate.

The right side of the line isn't cutting it. Brunskill and MM aren't getting it done consistently

Do these players even truly need their ACL's? We should just remove every players ACL's, then they can't tear that s**t no more. Simple problems, simple solutions.
I'm just really worried about it being more than just the ACL. The way it looked has me concerned there's more damage than that. Truly hoping and praying it's not so bad and an easy repair with quick recovery.
