Do these players even truly need their ACL's? We should just remove every players ACL's, then they can't tear that s**t no more. Simple problems, simple solutions.

Partial tear is "fine" in regards to getting back. A full tear is a totally different story. Plus, there may be other cartilage damage. And then there's the inflammatory (life long thing), and psychological pieces that need to be considered.

Bosa is fast but he's not a speed rusher. He's a tactical (from what I observed) rusher. I don't think this will have a significant impact on the first step or technique... but when it comes to chasing a fast RB down from behind... may be a lasting issue in regards to success.

Pass protection is always worth talking about esp. if you don't want your FQB to be reduced to Blaine Gabbert or Andrew Luck.

But to NY's point, if there isn't a high quality one around 15, don't reach for need either.

But this extends far beyond debating about taking an IOL. We might actually need much more than that. This OL is playing like trash right now.

My point is drafting a IOL top 10-15 is disgusting and a waste of Bosa's ACL.

Now OT is different. That's not what I've been saying though. There is no IOL worth that price tag. None
Didn't he already suffer an acl tear in college? Didn't seem like it had any effect on his game. What's with the pessimism?

Lol
You actually don't need your ACL. Players like Elway back in the day tore theirs and never repaired because the procedure wasn't as good today. Surrounding muscles can make up for it. But in today's day with the surgery being what it is everyone has it repaired.

This. Hoping it is a simple tear and he can be ready to go next year.
I think meniscus is what people don't always need, not ACL

This NBA player played without an ACL in both knees.

ya, I'm trying to figure out how you stop moving forward without an ACL. Now, you can have an undetected PCL tear as an average inactive person and never know until something big happens one day. ACL, that's the ligament that is critical in the declarative step... You don't have that...
Interesting. Although I think Elway is an outlier

For some reason, even without his ACL, his knee remained stable. Although he couldn't play football for the remainder of the season, one month after the operation, John's doctor examined the knee and, stunned, pronounced John fit enough to begin baseball practice

Apparently the muscles in your leg and calf can make up for it.

Again I don't think any doctor today with the advancement in the surgery would say don't have it. But back in the day I guess so.
