love Bosa, but guessing he'll be injured every couple of years.

This 👊🏼

How is trading a franchise DE for a franchise QB a stupid idea? They are both young and Watson will probably have the longer career as seen by the success of older QBs in the league.

No

Were not doing much without a pass rush, no matter who our QB is. If we played the Chiefs with Watson and no Bosa I would have zero faith in us winning that game. Because I think we would have to score a TD nearly every drive. Trading Bosa and then having him go on to win defensive player of the year while making under $10 Million is how GM's get fired.

Bosa has had serious injuries at every level of his football career. I'm guessing he'll have issues throughout his time in the NFL.

we would of won a lot of games last year with better QB play. Our D wasn't really the issue once we settled in.

So just ignore Watsons 2 ACL injuries. Cool got it

Good. I'm glad you understand that Bosa is a DE and Watson is a QB.
I'm glad your not our GM because you would screw over our team on stupidity. If the niners trade bosa and they had Watson then the niners would not be a good balance team and they would become the trash Texans. I love Watson but he just had a great season and his team was trash. If the niners trade bosa then they will become that bad defense with no pass rush like they were in 2018. Nick bosa is a generational pass rusher and if you trade him your asking to get your ass fired!!!!!!!

Unfortunately there's plenty of people who actually listen to that bum. The reason this thread is at the top again is because of Cohn article about trading Bosa.
I still don't know why the webzone hasn't removed all Grant Cohn content yet?

Because without our franchise DE anchoring the defense, the franchise QB will just lead us to many 7-9 win seasons with a 1st round exit every now and then.

For starters The Texans are also going to want the Niners #12 pick and next years 1st. So the Niners could be giving up an elite DE and another elite player for Watson, Plus whoever the Texans take with next years 1st. This is not a 1 for 1 deal. That's way too much.

He ranked the Niners top 10 players and had Jimmie Ward ranked ahead of Bosa. That says it all right there about what his opinion is worth.

An injury prone one at that.

You say this as people discuss involving him in a trade for a 25 year old QB that has already torn his ACL twice and has had houlder injuries to go along with it.

What does that have to do with anything? Both of Watson's ACL tears came off of non-contact plays in practice.

THIS...SO dumb. I would LOVE to have Watson but if your argument is Bosa is "injury prone" and not bringing up the fact that Watson has a laundry list of injuries in his own right, then how can we take what you're saying seriously?

He's also not some guy who's gonna play in the pocket every snap (although he's improving a ton there). His TTT throughout his career has been around 2.96 which isn't the longest in the league, but it's damn near it. Part of what makes him special, is he's able to make those out of structure plays...it's also what can lead to unnecessary hits.

People need to calm their tits with the Bosa trade stuff. He's gonna have around $12M in DM if moved. SO we'd have no cap space, no draft picks (for yrs), no edge rushers (what makes the defense run), and we lose a bunch of talent? I don't want to become the Texans. Sorry no thanks.

If they can't make a play with just picks...then let some other team bury their roster for a QB. Go draft a kid.

Not only would you be trading a great pass rusher you 'd be trading a relatively cheap one at that.

Didn't we have a top defense last season without Bosa???

The guy that ran that defense isn't on the team anymore.
