Ebukam hasn't showed hardly anything as far as pass rush. He was the only real addition to the team in that aspect this off-season. I feel like they counted on Ford again this year which was a big mistake. Anything he provides should be considered bonus, not something to count on. The pass rush needs to be addressed much more seriously going forward. Bargain guys like Ebukam should be rotational only. They need a legit FA this off-season. I'm not sure about who will be available though?

They addressed the pass rush in 2109 when they drafted Bosa and traded for Ford. I agree they could use someone else but with no first round picks for 2 years and bigger needs in the DB it will be hard to get help unless they just get lucky with a late round pick. Free agency may not be an option since teams don't usually give up on a good edge rusher unless he wants a lot of money. In that case, the Niners probably couldn't afford him.
Politics is 100% accurate for this thread. This f**ker gets held so much and gets no respect from the refs.

Pass defense needs two parts to work. Good pass rushers and good pass defenders. If one or the other is missing, its never a good pass defense in my view. They have Bosa and they have 20 sacks already with their current personnel. They need DBs to shore up the back end. I think if they can land another Deommodore or Talanoa in next years draft they should be fine defensively - even without adding a defensive lineman in next years draft.

They addressed the pass rush in 2109...

Sounds about right.

Will CatchMaster80 alive in 2109?

I think in order for the holds to stop Bosa has to complain more to the refs that they keep holding him, even Shanahan.

It's brutal indeeD. They said on the post game that Kyle does send into the league a video highlighting the holds. They're on it.

refs just don't like to get into a pattern of constantly throwing laundry. It is a bad look.

Thing is, sometimes refs have to keep throwing it until the player stops committing the penalty. At the very least make the offending player adjust to less egregious holding by calling him on the blatant holding. Not calling it all makes the holding worse, not better.
It's sad how frequently the refs are missing obvious holds vs Bosa. What's crazy is that they're not even questionable tugs, it's straight up head locks and choke holds. I hate to keep bringing it back to the SB because it's still painful but we all know that game ends differently if they make the call they're supposed to.
On that pick 6, Bosa rocked #63 of the Rams lol.

And yet many of the unfaithful still bag on him, just because he does not get a ton of sacks. Dude has been a beast this year.

Not me. I've always been an AA defender. Pressures are what matters to me when scouting DL. He's still very good at disrupting.

How many deflections has he had?

I agree, but you have to wonder why so many Tackles are getting away with holding Bosa?? And until Bosa complains like Shanahan did on the sidelines when he predicted a hold in 2019 or when Tom Brady complains, Bosa is gonna keep being held. I look at it like this, if your kid keep getting away with stealing cookies from the cookie jar and you're not saying s**t, they're gonna keep doing it. This dude should've been the sack leader by now.

Feels like we can get multiple screen caps like this every single game.

Ive never seen such egregious holding calls get overlooked so often.

But Street gets tripped up and grazes Staffords leg with barely enough force for Stafford to notice and that gets called 🙄

I forgot about that given the win...but if that game was close that would've been so much worse. I couldn't believe they flagged that sh*t. That rule was supposed to be when the defender dives at the QB below the knee. Stafford basically stepped on top of Street and they flagged it. Ridiculous.

It was unavoidable by Street, stupid frickin call!!!! Calls like that can easily change the way a game goes not to mention cost a team a win. They need to change that stupid Tom Brady rule.

We have to remember that this is really Bosa's 2nd year since he missed almost all of last year. It always seems tha tthe longer a player performs well in any league the more respect he gets on calls from the officials. It may not be right but it's the way it is. You see it in baseball with certain n=hitters or pitchers getting the calls their way. Certain basketball players get the benefit of the doubt on foul calls. Same is true in football. I thunk after this year we will see more holding calls on linemen trying to block Bosa. Officials look at game film too and the more they see him the more they will realize how much he's being held.
