I really think it's more mental than physical for some guys. Hopefully Kinlaw has a similar outcome to Nick but that's unlikely. Kinlaw has a lot more weight to put onto those knees but I do think if he takes his rehab as seriously and gets his mind right then he can certainly be healthy enough to prove his worth for this team.

In hindsight I wish we shut him down earlier in the season but I also think his surgery wasn't as extensive as Nicks. So we'll see how it goes.

I'm not concerned about Kinlaw coming back healthy. What concerns me is yet another offseason for him where he's not focusing on improvement. He's going to be spending the overwhelming majority of his time focusing on rehab and physical therapy instead of getting better. At this point going into his third year, I was hoping he'd be established as a dominant player. That's certainly not the case.

Yeah...not ideal to say the least.

It's a shame the Bosa/Ford tandem never was able to stay on the field much.

Back in the 70s the Niners had their greatest pass rushing duo in franchise history. Cedric Hardman and Tommy Hart terrorized QBs back then. Together they combined for 166 sacks in 8 seasons. Those were only 14 game seasons so you could easily add another 14 sacks or more if the played 16 game seasons. Hardman was double digits in sacks 6 times (5 straight) with a high of 18. Hart hit double digits 3 times with highs of 16 and 17.

If the Niners can ever find that 2nd guy that can actually stay on the field, We could see another duo like that. They were a big part of why the Niners were good in the early 70s including a couple of epic playoff battles with the Cowpies.

John Brodie was NFL MVP in 1970; a fantastic 49er Team with the 'Gold Rush' on D and Brodie throwing bombs to Gene Washington!

I went to the last game ever played by the Niners in Kezar. That 1971 playoff loss to the Cowpies was tough to take. It was also bitterly cold that day. Probably the coldest I've ever been at a football game even with all the anti freeze we consumed. We started early in a bar in the Haight so we were well on our way by game time.
12 games, 12 sacks.

Bosa eating...but TJ Watt has 16 in 10 games

Sad thing is we could've had a Watt/Bosa combo right now

Really gonna need Nick and the rest of the DL to be at their best vs Burrow Sunday. We blew it vs Seattle so that game is pretty much a must win right now. And with their firepower on offense the only way to really stop them is getting to Burrow so he can't make accurate throws down field.

That's awesome that duo.

Curious how you got your stats since sacks weren't recorded until 1982?

They've gone back and watched games of a lot players from that era. You can find a lot of different stats from that era that wasn't recorded back then.

Guy is a beast out there! If he wasn't held almost every play he would have a handful or more sacks easy!

He's just a great player - not letting two ACL's slow him down.

True but Bosa gets double teamed a LOT more, choke held a lot more and no help from anyone else on the DL
