The NFL is far and away the top rated sport that there's no way they would risk fixing games. The public outcry would destroy trust and the league would lose it's popularity. Revenue from all the TV networks (and it's nearly all the major ones now) is enormous. The league has people that monitor any possible fixing of games. They aren't about to kill the golden goose.
The league knows the tendencies of certain officials and certain groups. One calls them tight. Another tends to let them play. Any deviance from that pattern is going to invite an investigation. That doesn't mean that officials are entirely impartial. They probably hav ehteir favorites too and may sometimes make a call base don that.
One or two calls can sometimes make a difference but most players and coaches live by the rule that if you play well enough it won't come down to one bad call.
I think the bolded does influence which crew officiates which games. It was known that the crew that did the SF/KC SB called fewer offensive holding calls when compared to their peers. I remember thinking, "that's not good", and it did end up playing a role in the game. Was it intentional by the NFL to assign that crew to the game? Only the league knows. Agree on the underlined.

In the week 18 game, Bosa lined up over the RT a lot, staying away from Andrew Whitworth. Whitworth missed the game last week, but is slated to be back this Sunday (knee, ankle injury).

Walsh always built his teams to defeat the opposition *and* the refs, so it was a very high standard to meet.

I noticed that he rushed a lot in the second half of the season from the left side. I wonder if this has anything to do with the repaired knee. Rushing from the right side(over LT) puts strain on the repaired left knee while trying to turn the corner and get that toe pointed at the QB.

but all the pressure Bosa puts on QBs.. i would want the QB peeking at Bosa to see where he's at then looking Down field

Never thought of that aspect but I can see how that plays a role, good point. It seems like this season he's lined up over the RT a lot.

People always sound so ridiculous when they get to that argument- so and so 'hates us'.
Goodell is the commissioner, commissioners like revenue. The Niners are one of the most popular teams in the league (they even have two stadiums now, Levi's and Levi's South). Ergo, the better the Niners do, the more the fans spend money on tickets, merch, etc. So, logically he would freaking love the Niners.

Logically yes. NFL should do everything in their power to have 49ers go to the super bowl. Proof already that Niners fan spends more money when they overtook SoFi stadium week 18. Then the Niners vs Cowboys wildcard game had one of the highest viewer numbers in awhile.
Niners vs Bengals or Niners vs Chiefs sounds overall better than Rams vs whoever.

I still think he gets overlooked as one of the best defensive players in the league. Would love for him to have an Aldon Smith game (that guy was a best at his peak).

A 5 sack game against Stafford in the NFCCG would do it.

Shoot, I think he's capable of having a Derrick Thomas type game under the right circumstances. That dude had 7 sacks in one game back in the day versus the Seahawks when they were still in the AFC west (unfortunately for the Chiefs they still lost that game).
