pretty sure you weren't afraid of Fields also
I'd put Nick on a pitch count. Third downs only and if the game is in hand, he gets a ball cap and a tablet and a pat on the back.
So true. Fields was hot garbage vs us. EVERY TD they scored was ONLY bc we had a personal foul/penalty AFTER stopping them on third down. Fields only completed 2 passes past the line of scrimmage vs us. So it's so ridiculous to make that comparison
I concur. There are a plethora of things that can happen

The whole "let him rest" argument has and will always be stupid when the team is playing in meaningful games. If a player can suit up and the risk of reaggravating it is low, then they should always play, especially when they happened to be arguably your best player on the team. Falcons arent great, but I don't think they can win with their entire B squad out there.
That Falcons game in 2019 that everyone points to as a trap game? They let Sherman rest when he said he could've played, Julio Jones ended up going nuts which was the deciding factor.

If the risk of reaggravating was low then of course they would have him play. The thing with groin strains is that they are notorious for turning chronic. I speak from (foolish) experience. I played through the pain of a groin strain (rugby not football) and turned a simple strain into a seven year struggle for mobility. Not only did I never play the game again, I struggled to walk some days. Thankfully all healed up now. Obviously the likes of Bosa have access to treatment and assessment that I did not.
The point is that these decisions are often about whether it is better to miss one or two games instead of screwing your whole season. It's often a difficult call to make.

Only Nick knows how good it feels but as stated above things like that can feel good but the slightest aggravation can set it off again. They should be able to beat the Falcons even without Bosa. If they can't then they aren't the team that many of us think they are.

Que the NY85 staple: "Every X in the NFL has X."
LOL.
I actually wasn't disagreeing with him...just noting you should expect some annual nagging injuries that will inevitably get in the way of him being "unstoppable."

This team still has much to prove after already losing to the Bears and Broncos.
Another loss at this stage In the season against another team we're expecting to win and questions would be asked.
With that being said, I'm fully confident we'll beat the Falcons, with or without Bosa.

The injuries will always catch up to us at some point but if we're going to get over the hump, I'm more concerned about the discipline issues...dumb penalties esp. In the RZ, missed opportunities in the passing game and run blocking, drops, ST being horrendous at times, letting teams hang around, defense with a 2 score lead, etc.
The little things that add up to a L instead of a W.
