In 2018, Mitch Wishnowsky averaged 47.4 yards per punt at home where the air is thin, because Salt Lake City is 4,226 feet above sea level. On the road, he averaged just 43.7 yards per punt. That's what Bradley Pinion averaged for the 49ers last season.

BTW, who cares about average distance? Its more about Net average, and % of punts inside the 20. Wishnowsky is 11th in net yds at 42.3, and there are only 4 guys with 43+.
He has also landed 13 of his 25 punts inside the 20, which is above 50%, and very good.
Grant just can't stand the overall positivity, so he has to try and nitpick the rookie punter's avg distance.

Overall average is a terrible stat to base punting success on, because it does not take into account field position. Net average is far better because it takes into account return yardage and failure to pin teams deep by overshooting punts for touchbacks.
