One of the best rookie punters ever, should have gone higher in the draft in my sus opinion! Also leads all punters in unsportsmanlike penalties, a true 9er bad ass.

Bradley Pinion

Lol, that question always gets you dudes to say something stupid. He's averaging far less ypp and far less inside the 20.

So who was your pick?

yeah because I always have my 4th round pick ready.. lol you stated that stats doesn't matter then you go and state a stat to prove your statement lol... delusional thats why I just messed around with posters like you. I also never even mentioned him being a 4th round pick just him being disappointing..... but you go and push that narrative lol..... Nothing against you though I still love that your a 49ers fan

Sus, had we not taken WISH then, BB would have gotten him shortly thereafter ....and if not him there were a handful of others. His punts are the lowest in the league for returns. Why?? Because they are so damned high with long hang times. Granted not every punt is perfect, esp if punting from end zone. Also as you saw (or perhaps you didn't) that snap on the winning FG on Sun was way high and well to the right. That was a near miraculous feat getting that ball down for Robbie to nail the FG.I find your statement somewhat funny when one considers OZ football relies way more on feet than on hands....yet WISH is the good hands man.

A few folks have peed all over this pick, but when you have a guy who angles for the sideline inside the 20 and has the fewest returns of any kicker out there, well maybe you were wrong. But looking at what this guy can do and has done, has exceeded expectations. His punts arent the longest in NFL, because net yardage return is a lot more important. And there he does lead .

As of yet he has to show off his knuckler, his "dribbler" which runs along the ground like a Kickoff, and can do it while running, no less. Undoubtedly, Kyle is saving those for special occasions...playoffs for example.

Then there is the straw man argument that's we could have gotten a way better player with the rd 4 pick. Again, off the mark as starter OGs or even decent OGs were gone well before that. Same for OTs, Centers. DBs? Good ones gone by rd 3....starter types anyway. So getting WISH may not have been YOUR pick, nor mine, but you look at the goods, and he WAS the one best pick at that time.

Besides, we were sitting back and waiting for rds 5-7 , when we routinely seem to pick up instant starters, or in #85s case, all pros in their first yr. ...or DJ JOnes is rd 6. We have a starting RB who wasn't even drafted. Before casting aspersions on our pick in rd 4, i would suggest a fair minded re-appraisal. Because i think you missed the boat on this one.

Here's a parting thot: 3 yrs ago when JL and KYle arrived, we had Buck and Arik and Joe S. That was it for starters. You obviously know we have turned over 42 of 45 players, and going from being so close to perfectly pathetic to playoff bound , nearr the top of the pack....and all done in just 3 yrs. How many times in the NFL has that kind of turn around occurred. Yeah....really infrequently . Also our two guys have made 9er football exciting, fun and WINNERS. And Wish is a part of that.

"Just an average punter..." Right....your comment didn't deserve this lengthy rebuttal but you are famous for inserting similar comments for yrs. Normally i just laugh , shake my head and like others, say, "well that's just goofy Sus being sus" . Time finally has come to object to just one of your many off the cuff and way off the mark negative comments.
Cooke with the Jags has less total yardage in returns than Wish with 20 more punts. He was a 7th round pick the year before.
You're correct, but the two of them are neck and neck and this can change in one big game.

We don't punt the ball much cause our offense is really consistent. But Cooke having 20 more punts and still having less returns while having a better net average. It's not neck and neck Cooke is the best punter in the NFL and doesn't get any love.

This is the level of response we need, but don't deserve . Great (and objective) points!

Now that's objective thinking.

This is his first year in the league as well. As an Aussie, he'll only get more acclimated--and better--as a punter in American Football. I ain't worried about him "appearing" average.

As far as I'm concerned, this has been a hit of a draft pick, regardless of his position, especially considered Lynchahan's previous fourth round picks (Kentavius Street, Joe Williams). And even before then, we've drafted the following players in the 4th:

2016: Rashard Robinson
2015: Blake Bell, Mike Davis, DeAndre Smelter
2014: Bruce Ellington, Dontae Johnson (These players at least made contributions)
2013: Quinton Patton, Marcus Lattimore

Fourth rounders have not been good for us. Wish has been great for us.

Also keep in mind his talents are with his feet, rarely using hands in OZ ball. But he handled that snap like a dealer at the Vegas blackjack tables. Slick, neat , and most nobody noticed how bad that snap was .

Incredible effort for a guy not known for his hands. This was one slick job and won us the game. Thanks Mitch.

Just a slight correction there regarding Oz ball (Aussie Rules)as it is really a catch, hand ball pass and/or kick skill based game. So hands are crucial in their development. Just don't think you could ever teach handling a catch of such importance under NFL style pressure moments.
There is valid calls for backup QB's to place the ball but you don't need to when you can call on the these Prokick trained ex Aussie Rules players that are everywhere in college ball now.

If your comparing base stats off punt returns you are correct in saying he is a better punter.

How are the other factors playing in to the comparison?

Small things like field position, team winning %, defense quality, tackle ability, kick offs, hang time, special teams coaching, depth of team where special teams usually loses their best when others go down, the towns and conditions played in, etc etc

I personally would like to have seen more inside the 10 and some longer kicks where he has appeared a little off but is it really useful to compare 1 or 2 stats on any player?
