This was the punt VS Minny in January that resulted in the turnover. He also had another in that same game that caused another muffed catch.

Mitch contacted the ball at 9ers 15, receiver tried to catch on the 20.
Man, 'Heem motored downfield.

I feel punters get diddled yards since it's not measured from the kick point. That punt had 65 yards of air travel.

Does any site list punt hang times?
Thanks for digging this up, but i wish we could have seen the trajectory coming down. Dang, i had no idea that ball travelled 65 yrds and still was that high.

Incidentally, FTR, if you don't have 20/20 vision (and you better not have astigmatism) Mitch's kicks would be impossible to field. In addition to the extra long hang time, giving the PR time to think about just how high that punt was certainly a factor in PR pucker factor. By the time the ball finally comes down, wobbler or straight up punt, the ST guys are all around the PR and that sure does bad things for PR "nerves". Probably no PR has astigmatism, because if so he wouldn't be able to see which of the 3 balls coming down is the real one.
This guy was a major improvement over Bradley Pinion. Isnt that what matters most?
^^^there you go. Way better than we had plus a whole lot more. And this business earlier about not having enough leg? Good grief. As for his K.O.s not kicking every ball into the EZ is not because of not enough leg, it is because that is what kyle wants. K.O.s that sail to the goal line or maybe 1 or 2 yd line...that is where the KR has some hesitation....should i field this or not? And that is where muffs come in, (KR isn't absolutely sure what to do with the K.O). But kyle wants that indecision in the KR, so that's why WISH's KO don't all sail into the EZ.

As for punts, again, he drops them mostly between the 15-20. If they all went into the EZ ball comes out to the 20. And the punts are so high, that when they come down, well, our STers are already there, waiting. Not enough leg was just an uninformed joke. Also he is right at the top in terms of yards returned. Usually very little, again by design. And when your opponent is starting routinely from behind the 20, that is a huge advantage as we all recognize. Also as noted a few pages back, he doesn't outkick the STers. Do that and the KR has an advantage. Usually with mitch's Punts, the ball ends up pretty much where the PR caught it. His total yds of punts returned was ridiculously low, exactly what kyle wants...

Yeah, evil , the range of punts in the bag is a fascinating "to come" yet. I wanted to see those same punts that he was practicing end up in the game. But really, for a rook, that is asking a lot. Better to do it kyle's Way and wait til he really had his feet on the ground. I still go back to those trick punts on u tube and rewatch now and then, as they are going to be fun to watch when put to use.

I am fairly certain he used the wobbler one game when the ball came down like a duck missing one wing. Again, you have to wonder about the winds at Levi, and altho nothing like the Stick, they still affect the ball at times. But one punt came down so weird i had to watch the tape to see what it was doing. Wobbling would best describe it so i think i actually witnessed a "Wobbler".

And how on earth he gets that dang Grubber off while running horizontal to the LOS, is beyond believable. Crazy.

Oh ,and mr irief is taking a rest for awhile, so no more bellyaching about our punter...at least for 2 weeks.

Definitely a possibility that they kept it simple to let him adjust to punting in the NFL. We also had a lot of games where it made little to no sense to dive into the bag of tricks.

You can see all the tools are there. His return yards against were great and then you see some of the ability to cause muffed punts

Wonder if he uses a jitter bug to call the grand kids back in Crapstralia?

Watch your mouth mate. Insulting my homeland is not a good idea son. The last bloke that did that ended up in a wheelchair after I kicked the s**t out of him.

There are simple/fundamental questions his fan boys are refusing to answer.

Did his performance justify trading up in the 4th for a punter?

Do you actually believe he has any significant room for improvement at his relatively old age?

Remember, the dialogue around Solly would be totally different if he were a late round pick, but he wasn't. Expectations for a punter who was taken with a trade up in the fourth, are analogous to any other position taken in the top 5 of the first round.

Didn't trade up for him. Traded down actually.
Yup. Trade down under.
