This. The pro bowl punter is on one of the worst teams.

One excuse after another. Our offense hasn't exactly tore it up this year. You're undying loyalty is commendable though. True blue!

I guess your weird fixation and incessant complaining about a punter of all things and using a fourth round pick on one is "commendable" as well.

I mean the point isn't without merit as you indeed don't have to spend a draft pick on one or can go lower than the fourth round. But it isn't as if we're the first, or last team to do so.

And finding guys like Wilson, Breida, Hasty, Bourne, Brunskill, Mostert, Dwelley, Givens, and Moseley, heck even Mullens as undrafted free agent signings or off the trash heaps of other teams shouldn't have you this upset over one pick for one punter.

This is actually a fair post. What doesn't fly is those who make excuse after excuse for this pick. Just admit nothing in Mitch's performance justifies us drafting him in the fourth. I'd be surprised to see another team draft a punter this high anytime soon given Mitch's performance.

So because you view Wishnosky a bust for a forth round pick means that every other punter who comes up in the future will not be picked in the fourth round because once a team picked a punter in the forth round and he was a bust.

Makes as much sense as saying there were two rabbits down by the lake and the elephant farted at the zoo while eating grass.

Although a little harsh, there is some merit to you're point that Mitch is a bust given his draft status. I wouldn't go as far if he was an udfa.
Any player that is the unquestioned starter at his position for two years isn't a bust.

Solomon Thomas was starting into this season, and he actually has competition from back ups. Would expect more from him and Mitch given draft positions. Same with Mcglincy. You're setting the bar pretty low. Would be ok evaluation for udfa punter.

This. Wish has done well in his 2nd season punting and handling KOs. The guy also gives me some kind of hope in being able to make tackles if/when necessary as the last line of defense. Not afraid to stick his nose in there any time. He's also been a flawless holder for Gould. I have absolutely 0 issues with him being a 4th Rd. pick for this team given all he offers as a punter/kicker & just plain football player.

The 49ers have signed an UDFA punter to the practice squad.
@ireaf this is what you been asking for, does he beat out Mitch for the starting spot :O

Interesting. Might be perfect for the team.

NOT a bust BUT not what we all had hoped for.
What was it that he was supposed to bring to the team? Deep kicks? Angled kicks? Ability to run great fakes? Make tackles?

Pretty sure Solly started until he blew his ACL.

Agree, although one could argue he's a bust given draft position in the same vane as Solly. Just don't understand how people keep defending this pick. They would have to defend Solly by the same logic.

Is a Holder worth a 4th?

It is up to Hightower to coach all that stuff in. How about we get a new ST coach?
Can that Kicker - Viz also punt?

He really can KO well.

Hey, if Wis can kickoff so maybe this guy Viz can punt too.
