The thing is people wouldn't mind Mitch if he was an UDFA. But when taken as one of the highest drafted punters in recent years and one of the oldest. The dude needs to be elite and he isn't.

The age of a punter is irrelevant. They can play into their 40s.

That's true for good punters. GOOD punters like Andy Lee, Shane Lechler and Sam Koch.

It wouldn't bother me as much if he wasn't such a high draft pick
Can we bring back Andy Lee

While your at it lets bring back Gore.
Andy Lee is going on year 18 and still booming punts. Man, I wish we still had him.

Agree. Even Gore would be a better punter than old man Mitch. Would also be better at running those gimmick plays u guys go on about. Lol.

88 is a good place to stop as Berry Helton was a Punter and my point is 100% proven as pretty much every...single...one... of these guys did absolutely nothing.... Grown ass men crying about such a worthless draft position. How amazingly juvenile.

The problem with this list is punters hardly ever get drafted. When they do it is usually in last 2 rounds of the draft. When a punter is taken in the 4th you are essentially saying this player will become pro bowler or all pro. Any other position drafted in the 4th round doesn't have that expectation.

When a punter is taken in the 4th you are essentially saying this player will become pro bowler or all pro. Any other position drafted in the 4th round doesn't have that expectation.

Problem with this and has been stated before is that we took a punter who has a list of trick kicks and to date, we may have seen the "wobbler" which comes down like wounded duck with one wing in a hurricane only ONCE, nor have we seen his "grubber" which is a worm burner on the Kickoff, that runs along the ground and then jumps up 15 feet. Why draft a guy with a laundry list of trick kicks and then not use them.? He has been used just like any other punter, when he certainly has a lot more to add to the team. Picking him in rd 4? He is 2nd best on the list of guys taken in rd 4 over the last several decades.

This is on our ST coach, but also Kyle. He IS the OC, but also the HC. And to not utilize a guy wiht trick kicks is wasteful. Kyle has been mobbed up with OCing and then watching the D, and probably calling a good many of our D sets. My guess is he hasn't had time for STs. But as 1/3 of the game, this is a gross underutilization of a special talent. I hope kyle fixes that this yr. And if he hasn't time for it, have JL go help ST coach. He's perfectly capable to do it.
