Impressive punts, but consistency is one of his main problems. Would have to perform this way every game for 10 years and then maybe we'd concede he's worth 5th at best. Should try out punters every week to get him to perform.
Is this the royal we?

Apologies to any yobbos who may have been offended by my typo. We all know the tremendous regard they have for spelling/grammar.

Didn't that Mitch yob kick a 72 yard bomb last weekend?

" Meanwhile, Mitch Wishnowsky, had two booming punts into the corners, including a 75-yarder from his own end zone. He had four punts for 247 yards, for an average of 61.3 yards per punt, and three of which died inside the 20-yard line. "

How much of Mitches form slump coincided with Mostert not being on special teams.

Not having an elite gunner, great special teams, may have been a factor ?

No point booming big punts, if not body is there to tackle the returner 😕

but we see him boom some punts here and there, just like last preseason game as a recent example. his problem is he doesn't a consistently great leg.

like others said, when you spend a 4th for a P, you just can't be okay with a guy that's barely a top 10 P in the league.
If we don't run a fake punt this year we need to fire our ST coordinator.

We have the most athletic punter in the NFL and not one fake.

The head coach is the one that determines when to run a fake punt. Imagine if it was the ST coach...lol

I think it would be a valid question to the play caller if they do not use some of the 4th rounders arsenal this season. He has had a few seasons to settle in, so unless there is some other issue I am sure the opportunity that will be low risk enough for a fake punt or three. It frustrates me to see that there is an expectation from some in the zone for him to just boom punts long because he is a 4th round pick. That should not have been the reason to get him. Pinion was ordinary but could have done as much.

umm that's why they drafted him - to boom long punts. I can't recall a time that Kyle dialed up some trickery on special teams. We've seen him call QB options, and had a WR throw a pass, but nothing on special teams - not even on the punt/kickoff return teams (lateral). Wishnovsky's ability to tackle really is a nice bonus as a last line of defense.

Kyle trusts himself to design a 4th down play to get it than a punter who is athletic but just cause he's the most athletic punter doesn't mean much. Wasted pick
