Whenever Wishnowsky wakes up, will he remember he's playing America football?

Reality check is he sucks for a 4th rd punter and niners need to move on. Stop trying so hard. Even if he becomes an all pro after this, still not worth the draft pick. Lately he's been unwatchable with a tired leg.
Don't let ur true blue colored glasses bias your judgment.

Gould is a kicker. Wish is a punter. We give him the kick off duties to keep gold's leg fresh. Either get a younger kicker or, better yet, a better punter.

the goal isnt always to get a touchback though
usually a return will yield a return less than the 25 yard line if your kick and coverage is good

According to King Richard Hightower the goal is always to kick it through the back of the end zone unless he was trying to bamboozle the opposition pre game.
I was just responding to complaints that Mitch could not kick them and Gould could.
However, you are correct as it is not a bad strategy if you have faith in your special teams ability to tackle. Many kick offs that would normally be Touchback's have been returned as well.
Interestingly the stat for TB's are 65 yards and often kickoff's are returned from 67 yards etc. but the kick is unofficially the same length because the returner decided to catch it. One of those quirks of football.

Strong possibility new punter will be an upgrade. That's how bad Mitch has been. Even if he isn't, at least he'd be performing at the level we paid for him, unlike ol Mitch. Either that or let Gould take over. Win/win either way, keeping Mitch off the field.

Did he clear concussion protocol? Somehow I have a weird feeling that this game will come down to special teams and I don't trust relying on a PS punter. Remember the muffed FG attempt in the 2003 WC game between us and Giants?
