Both Ps didn't deserve to be PBs, especially the Chiefs

Raiders/Titans P should've been All Pro / PB based on Net Avg and Inside the 20 Punts. But both those teams were top of the league in Punt Attempts, so maybe that played a factor.

Mitch had exactly half his punts be inside the 20, that's very damn good and by far best P attempts to Inside the 20 ratio.

He turned into a damn good P, especially the past 2 years, first couple of years I wasn't a fan either but he's excellent now.

This
"A fourth round specialist is only a success if pro bowl selected." is a very interesting metric.

To clarify it in my feeble mind, an over evaluation by scout/GM's etc.(Draft) can be proven by the group think league evaluation(Pro Bowl)?

If true then simplicity runs this game and the need for hundreds upon hundreds of expert staff are totally wasted. Everything is just a Madden game?

What's more interesting is ur writing off the probowl/all pro status just cause Mitch has failed to make it. It's the obvious standard for a punter taken so high. Anything less is a fail.
Players have contract incentives to make probowls and all pro for a reason.
He is a good player for sure.

100%. Glad he's this team's punter.

Agree he's a solid punter, but he doesn't have a strong leg. Evidenced by his kickoff troubles.

Lol. Moody does the kickoffs.

This was also discussed that our ST tries to get the kickoffs at the 2 yard line. It's done by design.

Did you forget the Robbie Gould days?

Well that isn't an issue now. Kickoffs have to land within the 20, without going to endzone. Rule made just for Mitch

Oh yeah the incentive aspect makes all the difference for a position that most teams hope they do not have to use much.

I would love to see what Paraag put in his bonus schedule?

For sh*^ts and giggles:- last 5 pro bowl/all pro selections
Bryan Anger 3rd round(pick 70) 13 seasons 2 pro bowl 2 all pro (his 10th and 12th season) = success now, failure until 10th season on his 4th team.
AJ Cole UDFA 2 all pro 3 pro bowl in now just his 5th year with the Raiders = stellar success with zero standard applied on one of the best teams going....
Tommy Townsend UDFA pro bowl, all pro and 2x World champ 4 years a Chief now with Texans = overwhelming success with zero standard applied on a highly successful team.
Jack Fox UDFA pro bowl 5th year Lion = amazing success with zero standard applied on an up and coming team.
Jake Bailey 5th round(pick163) pro bowl, all pro 2nd year. 4 years with Pats and 1 with Miami. = obvious success.
Tress Way UDFA Bears then 10 years at Washington 2 pro bowl, all pro(2019,2021) = eventual success.
Brett Kern UDFA (2008-2010 Broncos) 13 years with Tennessee 3 pro bowls, 2 all pro (2017-2019) = success before I die type stuff which is brilliant.
Michael Dickson 5th round (pick 149) rookie year pro bowl, all pro 6th year at Seattle = rare outstanding but obvious success as a rookie and on one the leagues most special teams is highly commendable but what have you done for me lately?

Failures:- last 5 drafts
Mitch Wishnowsky 4th round (pick 110) 5 years during 2 super bowl losses and some NFC championship stuff = dismal failure, give yourself an uppercut
Jake Camarda 4th round (pick 133)Tampa Bay = obvious future star with a great team to get plenty of punts with.
Jordan Stout 4th round (pick 130) Ravens = automatic pro bow..........what happened? You have been playing a whole season!
Bryce Baringer 6th round (pick 192) Pats = please give up now
Brad Robbins 6th round (pick 217) Bengals = well someone has to make up the numbers. right?
Ethan Evans 7th round (pick 223) = practically UDFA expectation here
Trenton Gill 7th round (pick 255) Bears now Broncos = mile high success for the future....
Pressley Harvin 7th round (pick 254) Steelers = now working at Walmart or somewhere but an NFL team.
Braden Mann 6th round (pick 191) Jets = faking his way to future glory on the Eagles
Sterling Hofrichter 7th round (pick 228) Falcons = XFL stardom in the making
J K Scott 5th round (pick 172) Green Bay then Jaguars, then Chargers = absolute obvious failure leaving no doubt
Johnny Townsend (Tommy's brother) 5th round (pick 173) Raiders - Giants - Ravens - Chiefs - Ravens - Titans - Texans - Chiefs - Titans - XFL = turning in ever decreasing circles until you eventually turn inside out. Well done JT and all since 2018. No pro ball bonus here but lots of fun and christmas card list to send you broke.

On Notice:-
Tory Taylor 4th round (pick 122) Bears = must make pro bowl or bust.
Matt Araiza 6th round (pick 180) Bills now Chiefs = post law suit escape must get pro..... nothing to see here.

In summary 5 players from the year before Mitch's draft selection have made pro bowl/ all pro honors. That's 6 years of 4 selected each year minimum (24 total)
You could argue that Mitch failed 10 times. Hand back your salary you slacker!
Jake, Jordan, J K, Johnny, Mitch and Matt are really bad and failed at their jobs because they were picked high in the draft.

And as they say in the classics - now we can all get some sleep.

That had been questioned and the coaches gave double speak. It was not an ideal situation is what I got from those interviews.

However the weak leg angle is BS. Place kicking is totally a different mechanic to punting. One is usually a sideways type action action and the other straight up and down. There is no issue with his punting strength. He may be weaker than specialist kickers in place kicking.

You're right. No ones ever boomed kickoffs and punts….Oh wait, Pinion!

You do realize that only 1 from the NFC & AFC get selected, like with a FB, right? While only 2 for All Pro? So since Mitch, who has consistently been among the best with net punting, and punts inside the 20yd line but doesn't have an All Pro or Pro Bowl then he's a bust? LMAO, most of these awards are popularity contests, none of them are serious, take for fact that Joe Flacco winning Comeback POY, or Geno over CMC? These awards are laughable.

Pinion? listen to McAfee who played pro football as a P also Isaac Punts on youtube, who punted. Wish has every club in the bag. Many different variety of punts. Andy Lee was good but he was straight banging the ball, just kicking the heck out of it. he had 1 type of punt. Wish has every type of punt. understand the difference. he's as good a punter as there is right now
