What? He's had one down year. I don't think he'e been that bad.

It's because he hasn't been that bad. This year may not be his best but even still he continues to be one of the best punters at dropping kicks inside the 10-yard line.
If Wish is not healthy need to get the other punter in there this week. Special teams is already bad enough without any other issues

Wishnowsky has had a back issue since training camp. He's been trying to work through it but like so many back issues it persists. I wonder if he'll need to be shut down for the year. If he's having lower back problems I don't know how he can kick at all. Those can make it hard to even get dressed.

Hope he can tackle without getting injured.
I guess we will be going for it a lot more on 4th down.

Why? O'Donnell will be activated for punting duty.

Honestly this pick rivals Joe Montana, Fred Warner, and Brock combined in value. Hard to think of more value than a 30 year old punter with back issues in the 4th. He's gonna be all pro this year, I can feel it! (Aussie bias aside) ;)

I agree with this and what others have said. Based on Kyle's interview if they put him on IR, I don't expect him back this year, and because bad backs are like bad knees this will always be an issue. So thanks for your effort Wish, this is probably the end of the road.
He isn't known for his distance as much as he is for getting punts inside the opponent's 20. He's at 44% for his career.
I'm curious why he wasn't a starter anywhere. He is very similar to Pat McAfee. Strong guy who was used on fakes in the past.

Also, he can kick field goals in a pinch too supposedly.

O'Donnell?
I guess he doesn't have those other tricks in his bags.

Looks like the typical straight up and down style that gets length but is easier to catch, momentum carries ball forward too much and coverage struggles to stop returners due to less hang time?

But right now under the Shanahan regime the tricks seem to mean nothing so he is perfect right now......except his touch back was just before SEA went on to an important TD.

Interesting point about his place kicking ability. Quite a feat in today's NFL when the nuances of feet placement, hip action etc. are important?

If you see him practicing field goals I would be interested in what you think of his style?
